A warning letter from 375 top scientists

"Human-caused climate change is not a belief, a hoax, or a conspiracy. It is a physical reality. Fossil fuels powered the Industrial Revolution. But the burning of oil, coal, and gas also caused most of the historical increase in atmospheric levels of heat-trapping greenhouse gases. This increase in greenhouse gases is changing Earth’s climate.

Our fingerprints on the climate system are visible everywhere. They are seen in warming of the oceans, the land surface, and the lower atmosphere. They are identifiable in sea level rise, altered rainfall patterns, retreat of Arctic sea ice, ocean acidification, and many other aspects of the climate system. Human-caused climate change is not something far removed from our day-to-day experience, affecting only the remote Arctic. It is present here and now, in our own country, in our own states, and in our own communities.

During the Presidential primary campaign, claims were made that the Earth is not warming, or that warming is due to purely natural causes outside of human control. Such claims are inconsistent with reality."

Bullshit.

My dad is not voting Republican for the first time ever. This, we know he'll has frozen over. That's not warming.

Most of Trump's rhetoric is not based in reality but it doesn't seem to stop his supporters from agreeing with him. Once again, you won't persuade his supporters with facts. They only respond to rhetoric that feeds their irrationality. Maybe if the scientists stated that we are headed for a zombie apocalypse they'd listen more.

Why is this not addressed to China?

We can't control what China does. Hell, our own potential POTUS doesn't even believe in it.

Yes we should ask China and Russia not to elect Trump as US President.

Those of us who understand the impacts of climate change are NOT trump voters. Those who are trump voters don't care. And then there are the odd third party voter who totally understands the impact of climate change, income inequality etc BUT they hate Hillary, so climate and income inequality be damned. Let Trump come and make both the issues much worse than what george W did. But hey they are so much about INTEGRITY and principles that they vote for Gary Johnson who is for oligarchy and Unchecked abuse of climate.

No, there are many of us who are Trump voters who understand the science (I am in a scientific field myself) and know that climate change is a big issue. But if you think voting for Hillary is the answer to this problem -- let alone many others that are of even larger and more immediate concern -- you're nuts.

In case you guys are not aware China produces the worlds largest amount of Solar power (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_power_by_country) and they are leaders in Solar and Wind technology, Not America which is continuing to fight OIL wars in the middle east. China also adds the most solar power into the future as well. So China is quietly changing its energy ratio and not getting involved in bloodletting in the Middle east.

So, as a scientist, you don't see Trump's policy of increasing coal production, more drilling, fracking, getting rid of the EPA, DOE, etc.. as an immediate issue to the environment? Either you are a pseudo scientist or not one at all.

Leaders are supposed to think about long term strategy. That's what a good CEO does. Trump is doing none of that. What good are more jobs now if the earth is so damn polluted that our babies are born with physical and mental disabilities, and people are getting more and more sick from air/water/soil pollution? How does that help the future of this country?

What are the larger and more immediate concern that you trust Donald Trump to solve?

Yeah the immediate concern is even more tax cuts to the wealthy like himself and a stupid HIGH BUDGET wall that is only an election ploy and will never be built. What else does he have as policy, deporting illegals has already been softened to deporting ONLy criminal elements, same as Obama. His Climate change policy is chinese Hoax. His solution to income inequality is tax cuts to the rich and the wall. His solution to more jobs is tax cuts to the rich and the wall.

The trade war is another election ploy because if China is punished, China will punish USA back by throwing out American companies in China, a market of 1.3 billion. Millions will lose jobs in the USA when there is trade war with China.

Climate change is a bigger threat than the Islamic State!

I am not going to debate which one is a bigger issue. However tell me what proposal Trump has suggested that would solve Islamic State issue? Nothing. Better vetting refugees, stopping Muslim immigration to US are not going to stop ISIS issue in the world outside US, or violence inside US by american citizens. "Taking the oil" will not solve it either.

We know he has concrete idea to stop Paris agreement on Climate change though.
