Why would Sasha Obama attend University of Michigan?

Michigan has a 97% freshman retention rate. I’m sure she transferred, but in reality does it really matter to anyone?

So you’re sure. Hmmm. Any stock tips you’re sure about? With regard to it mattering…there seems to be a group here who are highly invested in this narrative. I guess we’ll have to wait until May 2023 to see where she graduates.

Highly doubt she’ll be graduating from USC in May 2023 if she just transferred there in January. She was/is a junior. Plus, she probably took time off during online classes like other rich kids.

Are your kids as soft as you are? If I was a senior in college I would love to have snow on the last day of classes. Perfect weather for a great party.

It snowed at my spring graduation in May of my senior year. It happens.

(not Michigan)

I love to visit.

Good for your DC. Pomona and Michigan are apples and oranges. Get it if you said NESCACs. And perhaps those are the "other cold schools." DH did tell one of our DCs that he didn't really care about Pomona's ranking. DH said he had never heard of it and probably would not look at a resume from there.

So he's an idiot. Okay.

Sounds like he does not travel much.

It’s 70 every day in Los Angeles.

If you want to hang out with celebrities and have a career in Hollywood and have connections and resources to do so, LA is where you should be. Michigan really limits your horizons and U Mich academics are challenging and competitive, not everyone needs to do that level of drilling to succeed in life, specially if there are many smooth paths available to you.

Yup life is not fair at all, yet some partents complain some richer kids prep for SAT

Let’s see where Trump’s kid goes to college? He should go to somewhere in Scandinavia to avoid getting judged for his family’s conduct. Every kid deserves that. I doubt he would want visibility which comes with being a famous person’s child in LA.

I think SAT/ACT/PSAT prep is overrated, otherwise all rich kids would make National Merit Scholars.

I had light snow today in Pa.

And it’s 40s and raining today in Boston. I’d take a fun spring snow over cold rain any day. Heck, it’s in the 40s here, and cold again tonight. Yet somehow the college students on the east coast will survive and thrive, just as they will in Michigan.

Chelsea Clinton was a National Merit Semifinalist. I doubt any other first kid made it to that level. To be fair, they don’t really need to care about these things so it’s a moot point.

Not many transfer out of Harvard and MIT for warmer pastures.

The vast majority of kids who make National Merit ARE rich kids. You might want to brush up on your logic.

National Merit is based on PAST and it's normally not prepped.
