This is very interesting.

Very concerning why both of these kids were moved by MCPS to Wootton out of their home districts.

That's not what the video said. It said she was trying to move him OUT of Wootton.

No she did not say that.

She said she told the school he was being bullied and she had concerns.

She never said she was for moving him out.

He's the victim I get that. This is horrible no getting around that either.

She's doing interviews from her home instead of the hospital. No way in hell I would leave my kids side after being shot. Would you?

Come on now. There are always too sides the story.

Bottom line is MCPS failed both of these kids. Their parents failed them as well. Yes they did. There is a reason her kid is not in their home school. Given he is a minor I am not putting that on here. Case search has a ton of info on both of these families.
Neither kid should have been at any mainstream school in the county.

Stop. Do YOU know why she is? Did she say why she is at her home? If YOU don't know, stfu instead of speculating on someone's family.

You were not listening well. The news anchor literally said she tried to get her son out of Wootton HS last year. Pay attention.

This is a recurring pattern we’ve seen many times in MCPS. Here’s the problem. MCPS needs to actually Do something when bullying is reported.

Yup. This is wash, rinse and repeat with MCPS. Problems are flagged to MCPS admin and leadership and they're ignored until it's too late.

MCPS needs to be held accountable.

What should MCPS do about the vast majority of bullying that happens outside of school on social media? Should we be able to suspend a kid for having a group text on a Saturday that some kids might find to be disrespectful and bullying?

I never said suspension was the solution I was looking for. But there are a number of solutions I can think of.

Also, you are incredibly defensive. Do you work for MCPS?

I do teach here and can tell you MCPS does not have a bullying problem. MCPS has a terrible parenting problem that fails to teach their kids values

So you think the news anchor is lying and made that claim up without her saying that to him? You do realize broadcast journalism works in soundbites and tight time restrictions, so news anchors will paraphrase or summarize information that they glean from interviews instead of just rolling the unedited footage of the interview with the subject, right?

You should probably quit your job. You're not equipped to engage with families and you have a troubling relationship with facts and a strong insistence of dismissing and diminishing parent experience.

So many parents have said they have raised bullying concerns with admin and they've been ignored. And yet your conclusion is that the problem lies SOLELY with parents and not the system?

Yeah, you should go. You don't belong in public education.

MC cops can be parked at GP but not our public schools? Pathetic.

And you don't deserve having children.

The student who was the shooter lives in the Wootton cluster, is what we were told at the parent meeting last night.

The shooter attended Blake last year. That's why there has been speculation that he's been at Wootton on a COSA.

So this basically means he was definitely wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the shooting. Our public officials think we're stupid.
