This is very interesting.

Very concerning why both of these kids were moved by MCPS to Wootton out of their home districts.

The student who was the shooter lives in the Wootton cluster, is what we were told at the parent meeting last night.

The shooter attended Blake last year. That's why there has been speculation that he's been at Wootton on a COSA.

The speculation started before the shooter was identified. Similarly the speculation that he's a student with an IEP started before people knew who he was.

Yeah, families move. Wootton parents are so crazy they need to chill on multiple levels.

This is a recurring pattern we’ve seen many times in MCPS. Here’s the problem. MCPS needs to actually Do something when bullying is reported.

Yup. This is wash, rinse and repeat with MCPS. Problems are flagged to MCPS admin and leadership and they're ignored until it's too late.

MCPS needs to be held accountable.

What should MCPS do about the vast majority of bullying that happens outside of school on social media? Should we be able to suspend a kid for having a group text on a Saturday that some kids might find to be disrespectful and bullying?

Its both in school and social media. If it is bullying, yes.

His family did not move. MCPS moved him and the victim. Neither lives in the cluster. MCPS failed both of these students.

I never said suspension was the solution I was looking for. But there are a number of solutions I can think of.

Also, you are incredibly defensive. Do you work for MCPS?

I do teach here and can tell you MCPS does not have a bullying problem. MCPS has a terrible parenting problem that fails to teach their kids values

Of course, there is BULLYING PROBLEM. My kid was bullied. The teacher in the class ignored it. We are very strict and involved parents. The teachers and admin need to be more proactive when parents complain.

That was addressed at a Police press event to say alleged person lives in the cluster.

we will never know.

SROs can build relationships with troubled kids. Who knows what could've been if there was a strong SRO in the school.

BS there is zero evidence of SRO's doing that.

When has an SRO stopped a shooting?

You know what they have done, brought drugs yep, sexual relationships with students etc....

There have always been bad kids in schools for ever and a day. What has changed is access to guns, social media and parenting.

There have always been guns and weapons. And, parenting has always been a mixed bag.. Schools need to step up.

Read the news. Plenty of positive sro stories.

The ironic thing - Wootton is so opposed to moving to Crown because they don't want their school population to have to include those Gaithersburg kids. Little did they know, those "types of kids" are already in the midst causing issues.

What has also notably changed is the education system's handling of discipline and violence.

Wrong. His mother moved, with him, from Silver Spring to Rockville in 2025.
