If it turns out the kid was wearing an ankle monitor (i.e. already found by a judge necessary to wear one) and if other indicators as to the threat posed to students were not acted upon, how is that not a smoking gun that the shooting incident could have been partially or completely avoided? You seem to literally be hanging off of every word grasping for straws. I'm thinking of the safety of ALL kids while you, on the other hand, seem to be playing games? |
So you now agree that having a mental healthcare provider has nothing to do with anything? Glad we agree on that point. And what actually is your point? You believe that the victim should not have been at Wootton, right? And you base that on.....an unverified rumor about an ankle monito? Oh, right, and his skin color. |
Wow. You really are only a one track mind, aren't you? Lol. It's your entire world. |
| If the victim were white, there’d be a go fund me by now. You guys are such hypocrites. |
| The shooter claims the victim was the aggressor - a bold claim to make to the judge, unless it can be proven. Yet you want sympathy for a school shooting? You are such a hypocrite. |
A student was shot in school. Yes, I absolutely have sympathy for that student. And do should every decent human being. The fact that people on this board are acting like "he deserved it" is disgusting. And I believe people would not be acting that way if the victim has different demographics. |
This has nothing to do with race. Race didn't cause one kid to shoot the other. Plenty of White Christian mass shooters in the US. What it does show is our school system is not equipt to handle students like this in a mainstream setting. It also shows guns as usual are a huge issue. And Gun reform is not working or there is not enough of it. Before the 2nd amendment shits show up I am a gun owner. Dictator Don is going to take your guns in a few years fools. I digress. This happened because the adults in the room from parents to the school system failed these kids time and time again. |
Playing the victim, “equipt”, outrage, and pointing the finger at others….you are the problem. |
The bolded is the issue. What do you mean by “students like this”? You conclude that both the shooter and the victim are somehow different/other/not belonging. And there is nothing verified to warrant that conclusion. |
DP - Except a kid in the hospital hanging on for dear life? And this "victim" was alleged to have attacked the shooter earlier in the day (which the shooter claimed the other party was the aggressor), yet last year the same person claimed to have been bullied and mom claims they were not permitted to transfer schools last year even though the new Principal was supposed to be sensitive to those needs? I believe both children needed help, for which the MCPS Principal, Central Office, and Board of Education failed to provide and instead left the families to fend for themselves. Now we see the results of such negligence and failure of duty to protect the children under their care. I also highlighted your bias, which shows how you twisted statements and added your own conjecture. Yes, I do admit there is a racist on this thread. It's you. |
That’s the court and djs not mcps. |
NP. What punishment does a serial “bully” deserve? The bully knows what s/he is doing is wrong, yet does it anyway (often to the same victim) for years on end. It’s not a capital crime, but the trauma bullies cause is very real and can inflict deep emotional scars on their victims that never heal. Kids who are bullied are far more prone to suicide - both as kids and adults. Even if this doesn’t happen, the victim’s life is never the same and they will not reach their full potential. What punishment does the bully deserve if that happens? Adults are supposed to protect kids when in school. They fail at this time and time again, often ignoring the problem or giving a slap on the wrist to the bully. |
Why do you have victim in quotes? Is he not a victim? Should all students who get into any altercation at a school be removed from that school? How would that work? Why are you making conclusions based on rumor and allegations? |
First, unequivocally no bully, or anyone deserves to be shot. Second, there is so much extrapolation here. We have an unverified rumor that the victim somehow instigated an altercation with the shooter earlier in the day. That is it. No more. We don't have any evidence of doing anything for "years on end." A child was shot and is in the hospital. And focus on whether or not he was "a bully" is disgusting. |
I didn't mention race. I said you desperately want the victim and shooter to be in some sort of "different or other" category. This is found in your own words in talking about "kids like this." You claim that they didn't belong in the school. You apparently base this on a few shreds of allegations that they were bullied or a bully. That is not nearly enough to back up those claims, and even if true it does not make them very unique or categorically different than many many kids in all MCPS schools, and all schools for that matter. |
