Most normal people would be embarrassed to admit they support the creep.

I’m curious what are your thoughts about Donald Trump saying at a campaign event about Liz Cheney, “ Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, okay? Let’s see how she feels about it ... when the guns are trained on her face.” Or his “funny” birthday note to Epstein about what they have “in common”written on a sketch of a girls body. I’m not sure why you’re not raising hell about the many, many public statements made by Trump inciting violence. However, you’re very, very concerned about the impacts of these private texts.

Sure. He was saying she wouldn’t be such a war hawk if she had to go to war herself and deal with what our soldiers deal with. But I suspect either you know that but the cherry picked excerpt sounds words (unlike Jay Jones), or you’re too lazy to find the truth (which is more likely).

Here’s more of the quote, “ “I don’t blame [Dick Cheney] for sticking with his daughter, but his daughter is a very dumb individual, very dumb. She is a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let’s see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained on her face.”. You can’t claim that every irresponsible and violent thing said by a republican is “taken out of context”. At some point, republicans need to take responsibility for their words.

Here’s the fault with that logic for many people though: I’ve never voted for Trump and would never vote for Trump. The fact that other people have voted for Trump despite him saying batshit things is not going to make me vote for someone else who has said batshit crazy things just because he’s anti-Trump.

What about all the batshit crazy things that Trump has done? You can vote for the candidate that supports Trump’s bat shit crazy or the one that doesn’t. Given what’s at stake for VA, much less for the country, I’m voting for anything that puts a bump on the tracks to slow down the crazy train.

Again, I never have voted for Trump because I think he’s crazy. I’m looking specifically at the AG for VA. I have lived in this state with Youngkin as our governor and Miyares as our AG and nothing terrible has happened to us as Virginians that our AG or governor could have prevented (the same as Wes Moore and Anthony Brown in MD). Now we are likely to have a Dem governor in Spanberger (who I am more than happy to vote for) so I just am not seeing what benefit there is to voting for Jay Jones who is absolutely unfit to be AG.

He sped in a car. The sitting president sex trafficked little girls, is a giant perv, and a walking pile of human filth. I think we should get over a speeding ticket.

The speeding itself is a strawman argument. Of the 5 awful things he’s done (that have come to light this week), speeding is a distant 5th. But nice attempt at creating a straw man.

Valid points. But the comments about Trump are a straw man too. Just pointing that out. The straw is serious with this one.

Because if Miyares wins he will do everything possible to obstruct Spanberger. Plain and simple. If you want Spanberger to succeed, you need to give her Dem officials.

What about these prosecutors who are not prosecuting? Miyares is pressuring them. Jones will support them.
You know --like Descano--who wouldn't prosecute Richard Cox and many others who needed prosecution.

Wow, he sure loves to think about killing people. What a psychopath.

But can he shoot and kill someone in broad daylight on 5th Avenue and still get elected is the question.

Yes, we would have a prosecutor who is not prosecuting and letting everyone off the hook. We already have that in multiple locations around us. It’s the opposite of what I want.

Most importantly, we have to fight. We need someone in office to do that.

Not Jay Jones, though.

He’s on the ballot. He’s the only option at the moment.

He’s the worse option. And electing him will absolutely sink the VA Democratic Party.

Okay MAGA with your psyops

I lived in Maryland when Larry Hogan co-existed with Brian Frosh. It was pretty great. Abigail Spanberger can succeed without a Dem AG, she cobbled together a coalition in a deep purple district. In fact, she is uniquely qualified to navigate governing VA with a Republican AG. It’s part of why she is winning so handily, she is not an extremist.

Spanberger isn’t an extremist, but Miyares is. He supports Trump 100%.

Will Miyares help protect federal workers in this area? I notice he didn't join in other states that sued to prevent the Trump administration from dismissing so many employees without cause.

Will he follow Pirro's D.C. initiative to refuse to bring federal charges for those who break gun laws?

Will he protect LGBT Virginians?

I do not like Jones, and his behavior is inexcusable, but at this point, I do not feel safe with anyone under the Republican umbrella.

Funny how the MAGAs skipped right over these questions.

Because they know Miyares is indefensible.

If you could clarify what those nonsense questions mean, maybe someone could give you an answer.

These aren’t nonsense questions:

Will Miyares protect Virginia abortion rights?

Will Miyares help protect federal workers in this area? I notice he didn't join in other states that sued to prevent the Trump administration from dismissing so many employees without cause.

Will he follow Pirro's D.C. initiative to refuse to bring federal charges for those who break gun laws?

Will he protect LGBT Virginians?

Very telling that you can’t answer them.

The answer is no. He did not join in one lawsuit filed by all the Democratic AG's regarding loss services and funds to their states, including loss educational funding, social services cuts, domestic violence funding, SNAP privacy violations and more. He has already shown that when it comes to the Trump administration, he will not fight for Virginians.
Anonymous
The issue for the party stalwarts isn’t that Spanberger can’t govern without a Democratic AG. She can.

It’s that Miyares will be positioned to run for Governor in 2029 if he gets re-elected and the Democrats may also see some of their traditional support peel away if there is no Black Democrat elected to state-wide office in 2025.
