I have yet to see anything other than outrage at political violence and prayers for Kirk, on Blueskye/the left. I am curious as that what posts you are seeing that are causing problems for you.

Chris Kluwe reposted the “me sowing/me reaping” meme. Also lots of people posting that clip where he says “unfortunately we are going to have some gun deaths.”

As I said in my follow up, tasteless but not justifying it and most posts are rightly condemning.

I am not seeing the problem with posting Kirk's own quotes.

Because all gun violence should be condemned. Mentioning that quote the context of a convo or an article about him would be fine but simply posting that (and only that) moments after he’s been shot is different and if you can’t see that I don’t know what to tell you.

It’s the type of reaction Trump would have if someone he was opposed to was shot, tbh. Personally, I don’t want to be anything like Trump but maybe you don’t mind it.

NP. Your belief is that all gun violence should be condemned, but that's not Charlie Kirk's belief. He thinks gun violence, and specifically political gun violence, is valuable enough that the power to commit such violence should be a constitutional right.

You are full of shit.

This is some more of what he said:

"The Second Amendment is there, God forbid, so that you can defend yourself against a tyrannical government. And if that talk scares you-- wow, that's radical, Charlie, I don't know about that. Well, then you have not really read any of the literature of our Founding Fathers. Number two, you've not read any 20th century history. You're just living in Narnia. By the way, if you're actually living in Narnia, you would be wiser than wherever you're living, because C.S. Lewis was really smart. So I don't know what alternative universe you're living in. You just don't want to face reality that governments tend to get tyrannical and that if people need an ability to protect themselves and their communities and their families."

"Defend yourself against a tyrannical government" is another way of saying (a particular type of) political violence. He supports that. I imagine a lot of us do, even many of the people talking about how violence is never the answer, but Charlie Kirk definitely does. He thinks there's a time and place to shoot people for political reasons. That's not "full of shit" that's the truth.

In America we do not shoot people because their speech is unpopular. At least, that is how it should be.

Yes the people celebrating this on this thread makes me sick. I just know it’s the same people that make fun of prayer.

Hateful lot. Why do you think the country is swinging right?

you have to got to be joking. People who abhor violence are swinging to the side that supports guns and someone who said we have to accept that people will die in order for us to have access to guns? Is this a joke?

The right don't want to support healthcare which includes mental health. The right doesn't want to support any social welfare that would help people with mental illness. The right want to allow people with mental issues to own a gun.

GTFO

Keep telling yourself that and maybe you’ll start to believe it.

Was it a conservative that shot up a catholic school? Was it a conservative that murdered Charlie? Was it a conservative that slit a girls throat on the metro?

We don't know who murdered Charlie, so lets not jump to conclusions. And we don't know Decarlos Brown's political orientation, so lets not make assumptions based on race.

I bet you a good company donut that it's a republican MAGAot.

I never said anything to the contrary. I don't believe in political violence. I was just pointing out that Charlie Kirk did.

There’s nothing wrong with this statement. There are unavoidable trade offs to living in a society with certain liberties. I’m very pro gun but still believe we need to do way more to prevent gun deaths (much stronger background check/licensing requirements like in other countries).

Then I guess Kirk was a martyr for 2A.

Yes, he is. He died for his beliefs. Do you have any beliefs you would die for? No? Sad.

Just a keyboard warrior hiding behind a screen. PP is a joke.

Meanwhile, Kirk was being asked how many mass shootings were by trans people in the last 10 years. Kirk correctly said five. The person asking tried to follow up by asking how many mass shootings there have been in the last 10 years, and Kirk got shot before he could answer. The answer is 5,300. Mass shootings by trans people is less than 0.1%. Yet the right wing seems to think trans people are the problem. Majority of mass shooters have been straight, white and male.

These people have hate and intolerance in their hearts and then profess to be the inclusive side.

Acceptance doesn't mean accepting people who hate immigrants and lgbtq.

But, tell you think MAGA is accepting of lgbtq.

There's some irony there.

+1 this is dysfunctional and chaotic.

Kirk was the most milquetoast of the pundits. He would talk with and listen to anyone who wanted to talk to him.

Gun ownership is a right and different than murdering an innocent with a gun.

Why liberals are snarky and sarcastic about this is beyond me; it’s not what we do in our country.

MAGA are the most hateful people on the planet. They hate everyone who does not look or worship like them. I certainly didn't wish anything bad to happen to CK even though I hated him, but he was a hateful individual. I've listened to many of his talks.

I posted above that I’m not a fan of his, but I don’t think he’s hateful.

And your comments about MAGA? That’s part of the problem. I have family who are MAGA and none of your comments actually apply to them. When you believe stereotypes and let them create a skewed sense of reality, you get what we have now. People hate and don’t even attempt to discover the truth.

To Charlie’s credit, he speaks to people who disagree with him.

Given what MAGA stands for and what we are seeing on the streets of Los Angeles and DC, MAGA is by definition hateful.

Same goes for the folks in Minnesota? Or did you forget about them?

Of course they should not be forgotten. Looks like you have it under control.

How do you know who the shooter is? Trump's shooter was a MAGA with mental illness.

because the criminals get the guns from Indiana and North Carolina - nearby places with very lax gun laws. You don't see this in Boston, where you actually have to travel a little to get guns easily.

We are having increasingly more gun violence in Massachusetts because we also have a number of states around us where gun laws are lax. But we do still enjoy the lowest firearms death rate in the nation and I'm grateful for that.
