Uh, you remember what happened to democratic politicians in Minnesota a couple of months ago?

This is why I’m convinced the internet is full of bots, who even are these people?

Not everyone who thinks Palestinian dead count is a bot.

That account is literally anonymous. Of course the Palestinians matter, but a lot of people bring it up in bad faith. I don’t think that account is acting in good faith or might just straight up be a troll.

+1 this is dysfunctional and chaotic.

Also, in the past this violence has been directed at more Democrats than Republicans.

It makes sense that the scourge of this killing of political enemies would eventually become bipartisan.

If political violence has become normal (which undermines our Democracy) then there will be deaths on both sides.

I would argue the shows the need for both background checks, overall gun reform, and also increased dialogue as to what the building blocks of democracy iny our society are. We need greater understanding of why civil society, good governance and rule of law are far preferable to fascism and political violence.

I’ll be praying for his family tonight.

This. I'm so disheartened by people basically excusing this shooting on this thread. It's shameful and I hope they never have to experience something like this, which is more grace they seem to be willing to extend to his family. Sending prayers to his family and young children.

Yeah those will help a lot.

Dude will recover and make a fortune. His kids will be fine.

He’s dead.

You keep saying that but no reputable source has reported it yet

Front page of NYT.

that is disgusting- the 2 teenagers who got shot in Colorado don't merit the front page??

Kirk was the most milquetoast of the pundits. He would talk with and listen to anyone who wanted to talk to him.

Gun ownership is a right and different than murdering an innocent with a gun.

Why liberals are snarky and sarcastic about this is beyond me; it’s not what we do in our country.

Have you watched a single Trump speech in the last 10 years?

nowhere near the same in prominence

It will be forever sealed like when Jeff Doucet was killed.

Who?

Thank you, President Trump. Ordered all American flags to be flown at half mast until Sunday.

omg you have to be joking. Do you plug your ears when Trump speaks? Not see his tweets?

We don’t kill peoples we disagree with. At least most of us don’t. Democrats seem fine with it.

I really wish I had not clicked on that video. It was beyond horrible.

I imagine he will set this up as a state funeral.

What law would have helped here?

You aren’t very smart.

Until we know the type of gun, how he bought it, what his history is…this cannot be answered.

But other countries have policies that prevent the carnage we see everyday.

American exceptionalism at its worst. We should very humbly learn from other, safe democracies.

Is it not against the law to shoot someone? They ignored that one, and that's a pretty big one. You really think a different law other than "you are not allowed to murder someone" would help?

When you aren't allowed a mixer someone, you can get punished after a murder.

When you aren't allowed to have a powerful gun, your gun can be confiscated before a murder.

I suggest you stop clutching your pearls and look up "own the libs" - being shitty toward others, and then being snarky and sarcastic about it has been the number one operating principle of the GOP for the last 10 years.
