The Golden Bachelor

P.S. Hate the cliffhanger! I suspect Faith's out. Sad to see the bachelor so emotional, likely due to back-to-back redeye flights, pressure from production, and lack of sleep.

And that he really doesn’t want to hurt anyone and isn’t sure of which choice-if any to make. I can’t imagine him asking anyone to get married.

Are a lot of these women wearing wigs? My friends and I are much younger and most of us have some hair loss, even if not visible, it’s not as full as in our 30s!

Some women age very well, and that includes maintaining thick hair.
They took years to cast the show. Obviously they were looking for a certain subset of older women.

Agree that being near friends and family is so important at that age. I’m starting to feel it myself. I can see Theresa moving too, though. At least, I didn’t see anything to suggest she wouldn’t move, and Leslie and Theresa both have grandkids so that didn’t differentiate them.

I’m guessing he was so distraught at the end of the last episode because he liked Faith the best. As did I.

^^This.

Other than Edith, who has thick beautiful hair? I thought the ladies’ hair looked good but mostly not very thick, eg braids and ponytails were thin like most over 50.

Yeah, the "drama" was just about him knowing that he was going to cut Faith but not wanting to have to do it.

I find Faith a bit too yee-haw, personally.
I think Theresa is a nice fit for him.

Dyeing your hair makes it thicker. Ask me how I know. And these are all bottle brunettes.

I agree, he seemed to like (or "love") Faith the most of the 3.

I remember the discussion between Gerry and Theresa's daughter (or someone from T's family) that was something about "how do you make it work when you live in different places and have different lives?" And Gerry replied something to the effect of "If it's right, it's right and you find a way to make it work."

I don't know what will happen Thursday, but I think Faith will be eliminated and Gerry won't be making it work (as he said he'd "do"). I can't see him being happy long-term with anyone who doesn't live in Indiana or is willing to move to or near Indiana. Technically, Leslie is the closest and it's a 9-hour drive from Minneapolis to Indianapolis. (Honestly, I have no idea in IN where he is, so I just picked Indy.) Seaside Heights, NJ is 11 hours. (Per Google Maps, at least.)

Oh, I don't think Theresa would move to IN, either. The daughter said they see her every day.

I'd like it to work out for all these people. Everyone deserves to be happy. But I don't see it happening.

Gerry had said this home on the lake was for Toni, his ex-wife. That he was sitting there wondering what he was doing there, here in her dream house.

I mean, that's a simplistic take, but it's where this all started in that first episode. I wonder if there will be a callback to that. Not immediately, but maybe dating with the plan for him to sell and start fresh elsewhere. If the woman has a house and they move in together, he'd have plenty of money to fly back frequently.

I don’t find this to be true in my friend circle at all. Plenty of women have lots and lots of hair in the senior years. What I have noticed is that women with thin hair get fuller hair while pregnant and then when it goes back to being how it was before pregnancy, they say they have hair loss. Could that be what’s going on with you and your friends?

PLEASE tell me this is a typo. Toni is not his ex wife. She is his late wife.

I wondered why the other women look like giants next to her. She's getting too much hate. She hasn't done anything to deserve the amount of hate she gets. If he does choose her, I feel sorry for how much hate that will come her way. I hope she doesn't read the comments.

I thought Theresa was being unfairly targeted by Kathy until she turned to Kathy at the rose ceremony and said all fake-sweetly, "And he came to my room to comfort me . . ." And then I was like, oh no, she's just petty and manipulative.

I don’t love Theresa, but this is a bit unfair. He went to her room after Kathy got her claws into her. I guess we’ll learn more about what went on behind the scenes on ladies’ night or whatever that is. Until then I’m withholding judgement.

All Kathy did was say, "this is the kind of thing you need to stop talking about all the time, Theresa," or words to that effect.

What exactly did Kathy say that wasn't fair and accurate about just basic politeness?

You can go back in this thread and find the exact quotes -- but Kathy said something very close to:

"When you say you have a connection with Gerry, it's just like you're telling me I should pack my bags b/c I'm going home!'

Theresa was just excited about her date. She didn't ever imply that Kathy had no chance and she should go home. That was KATHY projecting her insecurities onto Theresa and making Theresa into an aggressor and Kathy into the victim. No one else felt attacked by Theresa or bullied by Theresa .. why? ... B/c it never happened except in Kathy's mind.

When Theresa was saying she felt terrible that Kathy was upset (to Kathy), and she felt horrible, Kathy showed ZERO grace... she said "no crying, no! I'm not accepting that..." Kathy doesn't like to lose out and when she could see that Theresa was having a pretty good time with Gerry, she smacked Theresa down.

Kathy is the bully.

Typo. My apologies for offending. It was just an error.

That's not "got her claws into her" or being a "bully," unless you have rejection sensitive dysphoria. Why the hyperbole?
