Fire in upper NW?

Do you have a link to the voice message? Everyone seems to hear something different: maybe because one version is edited vs. one unedited?

NVM, I found the link to the recent interview where ms. Gutierrez plays the message directly from her phone. I didn't hear actual words, but what definitely could be a child shrieking in terror.
But didn't there have to be two perpetrators: one to make sure Savas was adhering to his script, and it sounds like someone was scuffling with the little boy?

RIP little Philip, Amy, Savas, and Vera.

Gross.

you wouldn't. your actual son - the one you nursed and rocked and kissed. you'd cut him out of your life forever if he did something terrible to another person? I just don't think I would. or should.

Reminds me of a past neighbor..she said to me out of the blue..you know if my son (who was only 3yrs old at the time) Killed someone I would lie for him! I said really..but what happens if it were someone in your family wouldn't you want the killer arrested? Guess not she never answered..How can a Mother lie for her child..sorry I have a son and 4 daughter (adults) if they had committed a crime they would be in jail End of case..I don't lie for anyone.. That is why there are so many crime..not only are the criminals let go ..like Wint that stabbed one man 2 times and one man once..and never served more then 10 months..if he were in prison..this would never have happened

no you don't lie for them. And I wouldn't hire the best lawyer to try to get him off either But I would never disown my child. this was in response to the poster who said his family was surely just as bad as him because they let him hang out on their porch after he got out of jail for assault. The argument was monsters come from monster and any decent family woudl disown a monster. I just don't think that's true. Or should be true.

Agree with this.

how can we stay on topic without any real developments in the case to discuss.

How about doing some critical thinking about what is unknown, at least unknown to the public and unresolved by police?
Review the arrest. View these two videos and try to identify Darron.

Notice there are actually two Wint's in the videos, Darron and Darrell. One has a grey pullover, the other has a cardigan hoodie.
Now consider the route of the two vehicles. They drove several miles north on Route 1 before reversing direction to return to Rhode Island and 10th St where they were arrested.
They claim they were heading to DC so Darron could turn himself in. If true, why head north on Route 1?
Why was he still carrying two knives if he was going to turn himself in?
Was this a gang on its way to pull off another job?
Were they headed to a stash site to recover loot from prior robberies?

Thought they were in a hotel on Rte 1. Don't think they headed north and then turned around.

Watch this video. He explains north on Rte 1, did a U-turn and headed south.

The 20/20 program last night did not provide any significantly new info, if you have been closely following the case. The concluding 20/20 statement 'that the case is far from being over" makes me think that this case is much bigger than Wint----like some connection to organized crime. mob, etc. Several folks had said that in early threads… Maybe closer to reality??

Or maybe gang related?

Or maybe something to do with the construction industry so that Wint and his buddies are really just the muscle?

I do as well in that I wouldn't disown him and would still love him, but I'd also be very actively trying to get him help or even possibly incarcerated if I knew him to be as violent as reports indicate.

I do not know how to attach a link. I will try. It is in this UK Daily Mail article. The voicemail is right below Vera's photo.

I hope this works. I understand it is not clear to you. However, once I heard it that is all I can hear. I have heard the other link and it is more fuzzy.

Try this one.

Here ya go.

If you are on a PC you can attach a link this way:
Move your mouse up to the address of the site where you found the link.
Press the left click of your mouse at the end of the address and move it along the address, it will be turning blue. Release the left click. Press the right click. A small window will pop up.
Select “copy” and left click.
You now have the link captured and can bring up the window with DCUM thread.
Go to the message you are typing and point your mouse to the message.
Right click and a window will pop up.
Select “paste” and the link will be placed in your message.

This report from ABC has a pretty clear rendering of the voice mail.

i

This is what I have been thinking. Wint and others as muscle for some business/industry rival. That it wasn't about getting $ -why kill them after receiving the $. That it was personal against the father and maybe grandfather. Does the crime have any hallmarks of Chinese or Russian or other gangs?
