The RB is Madison's 1st D1 scholarship football player in over a decade.

So? What level of football did you play in college? Also, if the quarterback is a good enough athlete, making a switch to running back or wide receiver would not be terribly difficult.

To answer your question I was a D1 All-American football player many years ago
. The kid is a great HS player, but there is not 1 scholarship QB at any level of football with his measurables. He does not possess the athletic ability to be a scholarship player at any other position where his size wouldn’t be as big of an issue. Football recruiting is all about measurables first. After they determine you have the measurables then they evaluate your talent. That’s what makes this Hayfield team so good. They have several kids with the requisite size that are also very good players and athletes. Those kids are RARE and because of that it is unusual to find them all on one team that was not assembled in a shady manner.

That's great! I'm originally from Missouri, the Show Me State. Show me, show us, your bonfides.

If he was an all American or not isn’t relevant. He could be a fan and know that the kid isn’t what D1 scouts are looking for. He may be able to play somewhere in college, but he is not what D1 scouts are looking for.

I haven't met any families who does want that, but obviously I have not spoken to every family. I'm just saying that to say some of us in the Hayfield community are not pushing for his departure.

I feel bad for your daughter. Based on your comment she is being done a massive disservice simply by having you as a parent.

You feel sorry for a high school girl because her parents don’t support white supremacy? That’s interesting.

Oh look, the children who cannot put together a cogent sentence are back. Stick to your little barstool insta site, ok?

You approve of his behavior? Yikes.

He wasn’t shown to have violated any rules. They need to remove that South County coach that made those racist comments.

It’s a good thing that what you described never happened. What a cuck.

I don't begrudge those who are upset, but it isn't everyone. Most Hayfield families I know are happy. I don't know any involved with football though, but do know some marching band parents.

“Pretty much ignored the whole thing”

That says it all.

I'm not the OP.
Watching this from the side with a kid in a different sport at Hayfield. This seems like a great example of internet outrage vs real life. No many people actually care if Overton stays or goes. No I don't agree with bringing in 15+ players (that will earn a 2 year suspension every time) at one time but I'm not blind enough to not know that most top schools actively recruit. Some recruit in the 6, 7th 8th grade. Some recruit 10th graders transfer portal style. Before anyone can clean up football they need to start with basketball.

The best you can do is parrot your own lies. Pathetic.

We can tell you are from Missouri as you can barely put together a sentence. There is need to announce it to the world.

Name a basketball program in NoVa that cheated as egregiously as Overton's Hayfield football program did.

The outrage is because Hayfield got a Black coach that created a flamboyant program that was demolishing the other fcps schhools.

Your stupidity and racist ignorance is laughable.
Enjoy your 2 year suspension.

You can’t say Overton cheated. That hasn’t been proven. All we know is that a bunch of kids moved into the school zone and being coached by Overton was likely a factor with most of them. The AD made some suspicious texts, but not Overton.

I haven’t seen any receipts Overton breaking any rules or policies.

Those same texts admit that they hired him because they knew he would cheat. Therefore, they all should go.

Hayfield parent here. Love having a black coach, a black principal, and the diversity of our school! Hate the clear cheating and favoritism that has happened and I think both men need to go. So both can be true. White privelege and racism are alive and well, but I truly don’t think that’s what’s going on with THIS situation.
