Spirit DA Virginia has scheduled another ID session this Sunday but many interested players may not be able to attend because alot of the area's second tier of travel teams will be playing in the Loudoun college showcase. It's not a very impressive list of college coaches though so maybe some players might choose to skip the Sunday game. |
Recruiting comes down to time and budget
Most colleges have limited funds to spend on travel and recruiting. Therefore, they go to a top level showcase weekends where they can scout lots of kids at one time. That's it and that's all. |
Heard FCV/Loudoun has wrapped up open tryouts and are sending out invites to some age groups on the girl side. They appear to be moving fast so they don't lose all their talent to other clubs |
I think I would be wary of their offers while their ecnl status is still unknown, especially if they're pressuring players to decide right away |
I don't know what invites are...additional tryouts I guess...I dont think they are roster offers |
FCV's ECNL status is not unknown. They are out. Everyone has seen the division structure for this fall and FCV is not in the division. |
Yep..division structure has been announced.

Older groups care. Younger groups dont.. about FCV not having ecnl |
Are VDA and Spirit DA also making offers already? |
Got an email few weeks ago saying VDA will let you know either way in the near future about the invites for girls...but heard nothing since |
I dont think invites are offers |
He He He ... If your kid is a very good player you should care about what is going on at the older groups. Very quickly your "younger" kids become "older" kids who may want to play in college. |
Yes. |
What I meant to say is the 03 and 04s currently playing ECNL will transition fine into DA because they are not showcasing. The older ECNL groups who are showcasing have a big decesion to make. After 2-3 years, aftER all the older ECNL girls are phased out...imo...ECNL becomes 2nd tier because the younger talent is going DA. |
