It's wrong to think that people don't have agency. You may think everything froze in 1918 with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. But life has moved on. More than 150 new independent countries have been formed since then. Even Palestinians were gifted an independent state out of the ruins of the Ottoman Empire.

But the unfortunate fact is that Palestinians make stupid decision after stupid decision. From rejecting their own country in 1947 to invading Israel on 10/7 and committing all those atrocities. The rest of the planet has moved on from 1918. Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and others have all been independent countries for a very long while now and have put the Ottoman Empire behind them. And meanwhile Palestinians in Gaza and their supporters still think we can revisit the Versailles Conference.

It's pathetic. There is no mature civil society among Palestinians. There has never been an independent Palestinian state ever. Even the word "Palestinian" is new. The world has been trying to give Arabs in the region a separate state for a 100 years. And what we now call Palestinians always choose war and terror. It's not a surprise that every country in the region rejects Palestinians.

For more than 60 years, Palestinians have either chosen Yasser Arafat idiocy or Hamas extremism. That's not a lot to work with. During the decolonization period, most of the rest of the world chose capable leaders. And meanwhile Palestinians in Gaza chose a bunch of thugs to invade Israel and murder kids and farmers and carry back dead women like war trophies. We all saw the videos.

I genuinely feel bad for everyone under the age of 37 in Gaza. They never had a chance to vote in 2006 when Palestinians in Gaza elected Hamas. But for Palestinians over 37? They brought this disaster.

Next, they pivot to the laughably preposterous assertion that “Israel has no choice but to practice preemptive self-defense to ensure its own safety in the region”.

I don't think the death toll is in all that much dispute. There is the question of who the casualties are, with the Gazan authorities claiming only women and children are casualties, with the terrorists left untouched, which seems more than a little mendacious. What seems to be more the issue is whether the Palestinians and Hamas can stop the death toll from rising, which they obviously both can and also won't. They prefer to keep goading Israel and suffering the consequences.

Israel could abandon the hostages and just absorb the terrorist activity without response, the preferred approach of the Hamas sympathizers.

Or, the IDF could continue to work towards neutralization of terrorism, which is what it is doing. That is not without a cost to both the terrorists and to the civilians among whom they hide and shelter.

No sources for those #s are unbiased or objective or reliable. They are put out there for the gullible, to engender sympathy. They also are notably silent on #s of terrorists eliminated, which should be a clue that the numbers which are released are pure propaganda with no factual underpinning.

My friend from Lebanon shared with me a book of poems written by children in Gaza that her Palestinian’s friend mother (who was a teacher) sent her from students at her school (which the friend subsequently self published). Heart breaking stories from kids ages 5-12 documenting the loss of their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends, and limbs. How they miss school, their homes, freedom to play safely. How they are scared, cold and hungry.

This is definitely not propaganda.

Not this. Israel killed over 200 Palestinians in 2023 before Oct7. Palestinians have a right to defend themselves.

Also the Israelis have never given a number of Israelis killed by their own tank and artillery fire. Most reliable data says that number is over 900.

It is time for Israel to surrender to Hamas and pay for their crimes against humanity. This is the only way peace and American interest can be served.
