Skinny is the new moral/hard working and all other kind of superiority?

I don’t care about what other people (that I don’t know/don’t care about) look like, want to eat, etc.

But I want to be healthy and I want my friends and family to be healthy as well. Gaining too much weight is not healthy usually and that’s why I don’t eat more than I should…

I don’t judge overweight people, but I don’t want to be one and if someone I love is overweight, I will try to help. I do think that for the most part, if you are gaining weight (par for medical reasons) you are just eating more than you need… the fix is easy.
Is this judging? I don’t think so

I might not be judging, but it's not love either.

Not superiority, but I've read enough to convince me that it's healthier to be at a lower weight. Others can do what they want...

Do you judge smokers? I haven’t been around smokers much recently so didn’t even think about it, but in the last week I found out some relatives smoke and I found myself judging them. Like why endanger your health with a known addictive carcinogen especially when you have a young family. It’s similar with overeating. Why carry excess weight when it’s known to cause major avoidable health issues? I’m talking about MC/UMC people who don’t have medical reasons. It is a matter of self-control and educating yourself about nutrition, cooking, and labels.

How come our gov went against the tobacco industry but nothing still against the food industry? If it is addictive and causes major avoidable health issues?

Because everyone has to eat. No one has to smoke.

I love when people let you know it's CICO and you're eating more than you're supposed to, maybe. But you also realize that you and I can eat the same exact diet and one of us is more likely to gain weight than the other due to genetics, meds, etc.? I'm fat and I eat 80% healthier than all of my skinny friends and 100% healthier than my ex who is very skinny. He never exercised, too. But he's eat at least 3000-4000 calories a day, and didn't gain any weight. I, otoh, was exercising daily at the gym for at least 45 minutes, tracking calories, and eating a 1600 calorie diet, and guess what? I WAS THE FAT ONE. Explain that to me, CICO people. And don't tell me I wasn't tracking right or exercising right, both done under professional supervision.

Yep. I was adopted into a thin family, but was always bigger than they were, even at my thinnest when I dieted until I fainted.

A few years ago, I found my biological family on both sides. I LOOK JUST LIKE THEM! Tall, broad shouldered, and big boobs. There was no dieting my way out of my genetics.

I just turned 61, and got a great bill of health. I take no medicine. I am indeed heavy AND healthy.

NP. I don't. In the US kids are getting addicted to smoking early because of companies like Juul. I do not blame children for their addictions, or the adults they become.

I judge people who don't think about the impact and reach of multibillion-dollar corporations, though, and who uncritically believe the "willpower" propaganda these companies spew out. I judge you, but not a smoker, because I think people like you are causing more widespread harm. You and people like you are the reason that these gigantic companies profit off the deaths of Americans, and I judge that.

Don't bother. The sick weirdos on this thread won't believe you and you'll bring back the creepy Disney Word fat doctor fetishist.

But the point is you are eating more than YOU are supposed to. You can’t compare what you eat to what someone else eats. You can buy a scale. If you are up 5 lbs make some changes. If you go up 10 lbs, make more drastic changes. There is no logical reason why someone has no control over being obese. It doesn’t have to be that way.

It just doesn't work that way for some people. You have no idea what you're talking about.
You cut calories - your body adapts and get more efficient with what you have it, but still clinging to fat. You got cranky, your skin is sagging, your nails/hair thin and unhealthy, you can even lose your periods, but yet fat is still there. BTDT, never again. Next PP, btw.

Sure it is a lot easier if you don’t let your weight balloon in the first place, which happens over years and years.

Because everyone has to eat. No one has to smoke.

Everyone has to eat, but people have a choice to eat healthy, appropriate amounts of food vs unhealthy and inappropriate amounts of food for their bodies and lifestyles. Government regulates labeling of foods and people need to be informed as to what is appropriate for their body and lifestyle.

No. Just no. No one remains fat who eats fewer calories than their body requires to sustain itself. If you got super unhealthy it sounds like you went on some crash diet lacking in nutrition or something rather than making permanent healthy changes. It really is just a matter of physics, folks. ALL of our bodies obey the laws of thermodynamics. The fact that Susie can eat significantly more than you can without getting fat might not be fair, but it is also irrelevant.
