In fact, I think it was his idea and Meghan was more like, well let’s move to Canada if we are moving. If she loves the limelight, as the posters here claim, wouldn’t she want to stay a royal?! It’s just easier to blame her than Harry I guess. He isn’t dumb, no matter how much you posters want him to be.

People seem to really forget how smart and quick the Queen is and how everything she does is calculated. The only people who may have been shocked, and that’s a big maybe, are Will and Kate. I believe the queen and Charles knew this was coming. Even a blind man knew this was coming. They have been preparing for awhile. All signs pointed to this.

The Queen wasn’t surprised at all, everyone is just doing a little song and dance so she isn’t blamed by the public for allowing it.

The Queen was probably surprised by the insta announcement. And it's clear that she's ticked.

It's fascinating (and telling) that most people are harping much more on Meghan's family dysfunction, and not Harry's. Even with what we DO know (and no doubt there are still many, many family secrets), Harry's seems far more filled with issues than Meghan's.

Perhaps these two found comfort in each other, and relate to each other. Good for them for wanting to distance themselves from the drama and change things going forward.

Good for them.

Did not think she would act so fast and cut out the Royals next. It just shows how far at the end of the disorder scale she is. If you have ever seem the damage someone like this does to families you will understand. Most families have issues but someone like MM is a true wolf in sheep’s clothing. These people destroy families. She is playing the victim but she is the perp.

Your own baggage is skewing your perception.

NP here and disagree. She is spot on. No narcs in my immediate family.

+1 I don’t see how anyone can believe that everyone else in Meghan’s entire life has always been the problem (her family, her old friends, her exes, her in-laws, etc) and she’s just the poor victim. What do they say about people who always have a problem with everyone else? At some point you have to ask who is the common denominator...

Completely agree.

She has a close relationship with her mother. It's just her crazy dad's side of the family that she avoids.

Oh the mom she didn't speak to much up until she had a ring on her finger from a Prince and wanted the strong black mom narrative instead of the raised by a white guy with privilge narrative.

What evidence do you have of that?

Plenty, but lets be honest, i could link things all day long and you would say "blah blah blah" not true. Try again, so why bother. I know the song and dance in this forum adn nothing will sway your mind, so why waste my time?

Does she have a close relationship with her mother? Doris was absent for most of MMS childhood. Her dad was her hero and advocate (according to her own words)

Her dad may have been much better in the past, or maybe she when she was younger she was still trying to please him. Who knows? But his public behavior toward her since she became engaged to Harry has been pretty unforgivable. I'll judge based on what I can see and not what I might assume.

yes!! GREAT for them! But then give back the titles, the IG handle, the website, the things paid for by the Duchy (pretty much everything) and go on your way.
No one is saying they shouldn't leave. It is more like, you want leave? Ok. Leave the perks at the door. Thanks!

Yes, as long as we're judging their decision that was the only part that rankled to me. They just renovated that Frogmore House for $3 million at taxpayer expense and now they're moving, but also keeping that house in the UK so they have somewhere to come back to when they visit? I know they're rich, but what a waste.

They don't own that estate and probably had no say in it except some input on the design. No one probably asked them what they wanted and they were told this is where they are living.

If that’s the case, then give it up and let someone else live there. There’s no need for them to keep it as an expensive taxpayer funded British second home

You should read their website. It covers the renovation costs at Frogmore (paid for by the Queen, not taxpayer funds). ‘They’ (meaning the stipend from Charles, paid for the interior design. Granted, this is their side of the story, so who knows.

That being said, yes, they will only be permitted to call Frogmore home if the queen allows it. The spin on the site is well done. The theme is essentially ‘we would like our cake and eat it too, and ensure our son is duly recognized as a senior royal.

Harry's not even the spare anymore. The minute Charlotte was born he became a nobody in terms of lineage. He is literally Andrew of the family.

And yet even Andrew retains his titles and a property given by the Queen. Oh and his married daughter lives in housing provided by the Queen. Same goes for Anne. This is the system. If you don’t think that random non-working royals should retain titles and use of properties then that should be true of everyone besides the direct line of succession.

her blog was nothing but praises of him as a great dad, up until she shut it down (around the time she dated Harry). Are we to believe he became a raging asshole in that moment? So much so she never even bothered to introduce Harry to her dad at all?? Even Harry admits he never met her dad. That is weird as F when she was BFF with her dad up until then (her words)

That sounds like a formality. They're not going to be able to shed the association no matter what, it's permanently attached forever. And they haven't even moved yet.

1. Anne is a working Royal (her children are not) and do not have titles
2. You think Andrew's children should be punished because he is a creep?
3. I hate Andrew and 100% think he should be stripped of his titles and perks, but don't think his kids should

Drama drama drama - they create it for themselves.... the press would have simmered down eventually - and in the mean time they could have focused on their millions of adoring fans and countless positive articles and blogs about them. They both present as dysfunctional and impulsive.

The difference is if they are stripped of titles they can't use them in the future (you know, to profit off of them). The monarchy OWNS the titles and H and M shouldln't benefity financially going forward by using them. If people associate them with it fine. But THEY shouldn't keep the IG handle nad website with Sussex Royal. They don't want that life i thought?

How was Doria absent when Meghan lived with her while growing up?

Why would you assume her mom was a deadbeat?

But that’s true of any of the non working royals. And how exactly do you directly monetize a title?

Using the offical title on things like IG, blogs, websites and getting money from advertising. Really? Do you not know how branding and social media work no days?
