+1 This is what these silly people refuse to acknowledge. Herndon is full. There is no space for more kids. So obviously, no one will be moving there - including currently zoned Langley kids. The rabid “Herndon mom” needs to give it a rest. |

Seriously. No one I knew ever talked badly about Herndon high, or discussed it at all. |
That Herndon thread had more than 60 pages. One or two Herndon boosters kept repeating themselves and asked for the boundary change for the sake of equity. |
Which the crazy Langley parents then pretended was the official position of the School Board to justify “One Great Falls.” |
Dp here. We live in the Langley pyramid and never heard of Langley potentially getting zoned to Langley or Great Falls getting zoned to Herndon except on this forum. I don’t know anyone who lives in Herndon so I have no idea how they feel. I have heard about tysons apartments being rezoned to Langley, which makes sense given the close proximity to Langley. No one I know objects to this. |
| Pp here. Meant to say never heard of Herndon getting zoned to Langley. |
There was an angry Herndon parent on another thread that had all sorts of plans to send very poor Herndon kids to Langley. And, with the SB, who knows? FWIW, Strauss made it quite clear in one of those videos that she would enjoy seeing Langley kids sent to Herndon. Not in those words--but, in her snarky manner. Almost gleeful at the idea. |
FCPS has been telling people this for years. It’s not like she made it up for the first time in that work session. If a new high school gets built in western Fairfax, the boundaries will change. Did you want tears rolling down her eyes? It is beyond pathetic how some Langley people and others can’t move on. |
+1 I find it astounding that anyone could pretend this hadn’t been discussed by the SB. There were multiple videos showing exactly that. Of course, the nutty SB supporters keep denying it and insisting the videos were “taken out of context.” Add to that the disgruntled, resentful Herndon mom(s) who keep insisting, gleefully, that Great Falls will be rezoned to Herndon, or Herndon kids bused to Langley, and it’s not at all surprising there was a huge backlash.
It’s now evident that no matter how much that Herndon mom insists, there is no way Great Falls will be rezoned to Herndon because there is no space at Herndon and there currently is space at Langley. So Herndon mom, wherever you are, please get that through your head and focus your ire elsewhere. |
Speaking of “not moving on” ^^^^. Sure, if a new high school is ever built in western Fairfax, then the boundaries might be changed. But they’ve been talking about building this mythical new school for years, so I’m not holding my breath. -DP |
Out of character considering her rep for "protecting" Langley and McLean boundaries. More likely just playing games. I for one have never heard of this "warning" to Langley, and attempts to have her point to where and when she issued this "warning" were? I hear, deflected. A new high school anywhere would obviously mean new boundaries, so if that is what she meant it should be easy enough to give an approximate date and place. Or places and dates. |
Are you serious? A simple search of this forum turns up many examples of quotes from Janie Strauss, including video where she actually says, in a faux rueful voice, “Sorry, but I’ve already warned Langley that a big chunk is going to get reboundaried.” https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/975/811942.page#15658593 -DP |
But they do anyway. And taking taxpayer dollars and putting it into a legal defense fund for illegal aliens is indeed pandering |
