Sorry, what? Not wanting your kids in a school in which there are gangs makes one “racist and xenophobic”? Tell us, how many gangs are at the school your kids attend? Zero? Oh - why is that? You must be a racist xenophobe. You probably don’t even have kids but enjoy telling those of us who do how to raise them. |
+2 This isn’t about skin color. One fairfax lens is full of cracks. |
If my kid goes to Langley, will he get recruited by the Chads? What steps can be taken to avoid this? |
Before we entertain this entertainment, can we define "Chad"? Is this boy with a square jaw, academically, socially and athletically successful? Unfortunately Langley is full of these types. The problem is, I'm pretty sure every school has them. Nowhere is safe! |
The jaw may be slack, rather than square, and the success may be limited to the ability to navigate Langley socially, rather than academic or athletic prowess, but otherwise yes. And don’t forget about the Beckies. While that gang may shun potential members, not recruit them, you do NOT want to get in their way. |
These attempts at insults are pathetic given all the belly aching about the inequitable access to well-off whites and Asians due to Langley's boundaries and how they have been "protected" for decades. |
NP. I thought it was amusing. You need to lighten up. |
| It is amazing how Langley posters can malign Herndon students as “illegals” and “gang members,” yet have a temper tantrum over a description of a random Chad or Becky. |
| ^^ I think it's funny, too and I'm from Herndon, but I'd prefer the Chad/Becky problem, though. At least, I have some experience on how to deal with it. |
| No one from Langley (or at least claiming to be) has been as critical of Herndon as the Herndon mom who wrote on the "when is Herndon going to get a break" thread. She's desperate to get the Hispanics out of Herndon and get Langley in. She presented fifty ways to Sunday to redistrict and get rich kids in and poor kids out. |
+3. |
So, who would you put in Langley all these years? Herndon's boundary is pretty compact and includes the whole Town of Herndon. Would you split up the Town of Herndon? |
I would keep all current Langley neighborhoods in Langley and consult McLean neighborhoods on their willingness to transfer to Langley. Herndon is full. |
I had no idea there was even a discussion about a problem with Herndon High before coming to this forum. |
Bingo. And it’s obvious she is still at it, with her threats that Langley kids will soon be attending Herndon. She reminds me of the Wicked Witch of the West - “And your little dog, too!!” It’s kind of funny, in a sad way. |
