They are still paid per episode. I think their salary reports are based on if they are in every episode.

OK, I'm just gonna admit that I read a recent interview with Jill Zarin on Reality Tea. In it, she says that while some Housewives shows pay by salary, New York pays by day and by trip. So when Bethenny and company were icing Sonja out of the trip, it really was impacting Sonja's ability to make money.

Actually all of the cast members except for Luann and Sonja earn a per season salary. Luann, Sonja and Ramona held out for the same 1 million per season that Bethenny earns just before this season started. They had promised to stick together...Ramona bailed on them and signed a contract, Luann and Sonja didn't get a per season salary bump, instead they were told they'd be paid by the scenes they appeared in. Sonja was being iced out in part because she thought she was worth as much as Bethenny who was brought back to raise raitings (which she did and received a bonus for). This also explains why Luann ate shit at Dorinda's in the Berkshires and kept following the women around even though they were all pretty much avoiding her. She wanted to insure that she was on camera and included in any scenes that were filmed. I think it also explains why Bethenny went ballistic at her, Luann has treated her like shit from season 1, and last season vowed to "take her down" now this season she thinks she is worth the same salary, bitch please.

Bethenny is definitely a lot but she makes the show. I think her saving grace is she's fairly self-aware and she comes across, for better or worse, as just being herself.

I liked Jill, and liked her friendship with Bethenny. Always hated Alex - felt like she was a limp noodle. And she talked so much about how great and smart her kids were and then they were bratty mediocre doofs.

Jill was a mean girl. She was mean to Alex, Kelly, Bethany. She lorded her money and status over striver Alex and Bethany when she was not doing well. Played the I'll be your savior with Bethany then when Bethany did well and stood up for herself Jill got put in her place. I say this thinking Bethany's current attitude and behavior is 10x worse then Jill's. Bethany is cruel.

Anytime she's acted like a total lunatic, she has commented in real-time on the show that she knows she acted like a lunatic. Most of these Housewives don't get it until the episodes air and their PR person feeds them lines for the reunion.

Bethenny knew she acted like a lunatic in the Berkshires the next day. She said it and owned it. She knew she went too far with Sojna and she addressed it during the season.

I think she's super harsh and can be very mean. I just don't think she's delusional, which puts her ahead of most HWs.
