2026 Girls Lax WCAC + ISL Outlook

I just found out that the gross foam padding on Gait Glory goggles is attached with velcro, so you can easily swap it out with a $14.99 replacement kit from Amazon. It might seem like a random thing to share, but I was really glad to discover this and thought others might find it useful too.

Game was cancelled. NDP thought it was a scrimmage and GC thought it was a real game. GC out of scrimmages so no go. JV played though and GC won easily.

SSSA 13 -BI 4
Saints appeared to be missing several top D1 committs on the field? Injuries?

Bunch of girls got suspended

No. They are injured. And probably would've accounted for at least another 7 plus goals between the 3 of them.

if you had watched the game the ireton goalie had 15 saves and only 13 goals against

and her defense left her out to dry!

There are ways a goalie can increase their odds on the 8m, which she works on regularly with her goalie coach, which accounts for a good bit of the success. Its early season, so limited sample size. Her school is not at the highest level of competition and she is very strong against girls who take one step and wail it. If I had to guess, between club and school since freshman year, she's somewhere around 55 to 60% against the 8m.

She isn’t facing Reese, Rassas, Fossati, or other elite shooters who hit any corner with velocity. And if a girl is remotely skilled, she will charge in and find the opening. Sorry to pour cold water on your daughter but the best of the best goalies don’t come close to 50% on 8 meters.

The girl who scored from St Mary’s is top notch and 6’ tall. I’d imagine she scores on 80% of 8 meters against the best goalies in the country. And they all are coached by the best goalie coaches in the country.

100%. If my kid were playing the top of the IAAM or ISL, she'd be nowhere near 50% on 8m. But, she's not playing even close to that level. When she gets to college, she still probably won't see shooters like Reese or Rassas, but it will be a big bump in quality and doubtful she'll keep the same save rate on 8m shots. Hoping that this will be balanced by better defense increasing her save percentage on other shots.

No one is going to convince this guy he's wrong. I'm sure when they play Lake Braddock or Chantilly, those numbers will come down.

This is really funny. Truly, though, goalie dads are my favorite. Toughest role in lacrosse.

Public schools. Now that is funny.

A goalie Dad who is keeping stats of his public school goalie who loves 8 meters because she plays against low level talent. It isn’t a tough role if you sit back and just enjoy watching your daughter. Clearly this Dad doesn’t and is having trouble grasping the difference between 8 meters against talented players and players who can’t hit an open goal. Good for his daughter that she loves playing a tough position at a level that she thrives. Commenting about how she loves 8 meters when his daughter doesn’t face truly talented players shows the dad doesn’t understand the game.

Understand it just fine, thanks. She picked her school (not public) for purely academic reasons. You get the schedule you get.

One of their starting midfielders transferred out last year.
