Its early season, so limited sample size.  Her school is not at the highest level of competition and she is very strong against girls who take one step and wail it. She isn’t facing Reese, Rassas, Fossati, or other elite shooters who hit any corner with velocity. And if a girl is remotely skilled, she will charge in and find the opening. Sorry to pour cold water on your daughter but the best of the best goalies don’t come close to 50% on 8 meters.

The girl who scored from St Mary’s is top notch and 6’ tall. I’d imagine she scores on 80% of 8 meters against the best goalies in the country. And they all are coached by the best goalie coaches in the country. [/quote]

100%.  If my kid were playing the top of the IAAM or ISL, she'd be nowhere near 50% on 8m.  But, she's not playing even close to that level.  When she gets to college, she still probably won't see shooters like Reese or Rassas, but it will be a big bump in quality and doubtful she'll keep the same save rate on 8m shots.  Hoping that this will be balanced by better defense increasing her save percentage on other shots.   [/quote]
