I'm not voting for him in the next election.

If tomorrow president Biden says $25K cancelled let alone $50K, means-tested, I will spend the next 2 months canvassing and phone banking for Democrats. Some college and college-educated Gen X, Y and Z will never in their lifetime vote GOP. Biden will be FDR status.

Independent voter here. I will vote Republican if he goes above $10k.

Wonder why the college endowments aren't being taxed to offset this forgiveness? The people who didn't take loans or go to college shouldn't have to pay for it.

Biden can't establish a tax via executive order

1. At this point in the year, this is nothing more than an attempt to buy votes for the midterms.

2. Cancelling debt is inflationary. More proof Dems don't care about inflation.

Forgiving just 10K increased taxes on the average American by 2K.

They are trying to save their mid-term elections.

Pay your own damn bills. Next you'll be crying that the country should pay for your auto loan, mortgage, and credit card bill.

I agree, Tom Brady, Jared Kushner and Reese Witherspoon should pay their own damn bills.

I will never vote for a Republican ever after 1/6. Even if they forgave everyone’s student debt but mine. You are not very bright if you vote for GOP.

I haven't been following this story and haven't read this whole thread. I'm kind of baffled. Yes, it's bad that people have large student loans and are in debt, but if I had paid off my loan I'd be irritated.

The issue that needs to be solved is the cost of education and access to education. Kind of like health care and insurance: the whole model is broken.

Boohoo! Others get something I don’t. Pound sand.

This is America. We have broken systems because the GOP can’t do anything but get their constituents worked up over cultural issues that don’t affect them.

Would you also be "irritated" if they established free pre-k after your child aged out?
Or if they made healthcare free after you spent years paying premiums?

You sound selfish and petty.
