Hayfield Football Coach Fired

If he’s allowed to stay at HSS, he isn’t going to be putting together “all-star teams” (that’s hire the Freedom-Hayfield kids described it, not me) and he hasn’t shown that he’s capable of making the most of a “community-based” school. He won’t be able to recruit under the microscopic lens he’s earned in both PWCPS & now FCPS. I think the external investigation will lead to meaningful changes that conform to VHSL guidance. The boundary review is going to make it harder for HSS FB & BBB as it will eliminate HSS as an option for military families aboard Fort Belvoir, so they won’t even have access to those kids. He’ll be just like every other coach in the county, making the best unit from the local kids. That’s not his M.O. He’d leave on his own.

This is wishful thinking. Overton said at signing day we are just getting started. He’ll get his kids in district earlier - 7th grade - and nobody will be able to stick recruiting charges on him then.

Thanks for the post Coach O. We’ll make sure that residency checks are under a microscope for the entire Hayfield Secondary School pyramid. We appreciate you looking out for the real residents of the community!

Make sure you check the residency of the teams with white coaches too.

You know, Coach Taylor at MVHS and Coach Louisville at West Potomac are black & no one has questioned their integrity. It’s almost as though this is an Overton problem, not a race problem.

Cannot wait until criminal charges are brought against him and Thompson.

If they had anything on Overton, he would have been banned or disciplined. They don’t.

Oh poor child. He was banned…from the playoffs. Sit this one out.

We’ll even check the mauve, salmon, lavender, and polka dot ones if it makes you happy! Coaches come in all shapes, sizes, colors and dispositions. Too bad your coach’s disposition doesn’t include honesty, morals, ethics and good character.

Google the colors. They are likely above your pay grade.

They banned the school, not Overton. He could keep his security job at Hayfield and go to a different school to coach and be in the playoffs next year.

How come we don’t have coaches calling the Madison kids criminals, gang members, saying they came from single parent homes or any of the other racist stereotypes that were said about Hayfield?
They didn’t even say anything thing like that about Lake Braddock which has a kid with felony charges.

I posted earlier about the LB player who has been arrested more than once and people on here ridiculed me for simply posting what I've heard about the LB player.

The racism is disgusting.

You are being disingenuous. I listened to the call. He did NOT call them gang members. He did liken them playing for Overton and bring do loyal as how when kids join a gamg they are looking for something to belong to, almost like a family (which he promotes, dude is a manipulator first class, in my opinion).

Was this the best way to phrase it? No. Why? Because it gives some people, who ignore tbe context, an eaay attack. But that is to be expected. For some people, calling everything racist is the first, last and only arrow in their quiver. (Look it up.)
