Arlington went to Boys ECNL because they had no other choice. It wasn’t a strategic move.

No further expansion in NOVA.

Fcv doesn’t have a boys program.

Fcv is getting in. You will see.

You think due to the SJ facility or some BRYC merger? That I could possibly see. Otherwise, why else would they get in? Anyhow, don’t mind if they do and my kid would welcome the competition. Sad that FCV doesn’t play more local teams.

If this is true, GA needs teams to replace them.

^^^ Yes, continue to water down the competition. The league will jot survive.

Heard they are not happy with the TD at BRYC. The merger seems a way to make the change without an uproar happening. The word is the the spirit are helping with the search that would change things up for the boys and girl teams alike

The fact that people keep talking about a merger between “FCV” and BRYC fail to understand the current reality. There is no FCV anymore. TSJ is the owner.

One of two things would have to happen.

1. TSJ buys BRYC, a large multi-sport club.
2. BRYC buys TSJ’s controlling interests in the soccer club

BRYC could try and hire away TSJ’s coaching staff in hopes that they bring their players but that would likely violate a non-compete clause in their contracts.

Are you saying they couldn’t get a boys spot in MLSnext?

I’m saying there wasn’t an MLS-Next to get into.

Breathe.

Doesn’t matter. FCV is nothing without Loudoun’s pool.

BRYC isn't buying anything. Buying it with what?

If FCV is the only one not having ECNL in the area they will also be the only ones not having to follow any recruiting rules which is the only thing they have without any player pool in younger age groups. They can recruit now all year long without any restrictions. You could argue nobody wants to go there but recent movements from ECNL Clubs to FCV have shown a different story. I almost would be more comfortable having them in, keep your enemies close.

That's the point. Also, BRYC isn't selling either.

Cant imagine BRYC buying STJ soccer piece and cant imagine St. James buying BRYC. There could be a way to merge teams, STJ/FCV have coaches and good players, BRYC has the league. When coaches contracts are up at STJ I could see them looking around either locally or somewhere else, and I think current FCV players would follow if it was a local move. The coaching move with out a merger seems to make the most sense if it ever were to happen.

There is no scenario where a merger “makes sense”.

Who collects training fees and who pays the coaches?

BRYC is a non-profit and TSJ is a profit.

It isn't happening.
