| FCV Need to be back in ECNL quickly, as one of the founding members they should be allowed back in the league, as the top club in VA they need to be competing against better opposition |
| Find another club |
I think Loudoun took their chair. If I were ECNL, I would not accept another club that lives literally next door to one of my member clubs. |
| Not happening. They burned their bridges with ECNL twice: once when they left and again when they were kicked out of NPL |
This reflects the honest reality of the situation. |
Yup, it's called karma. They are on probation. |
Why were they kicked out of NPL? |
They’re deserving, but, players will just go to Loudoun or McLean. League holds no loyalty to a club not in ECNL |
|
FCV success was being one of two programs in NOVA with ECNL. They were a destination club. The second factor was being next door to the biggest pipeline in Virginia, Loudoun soccer. Everything has now changed.
The rise of the GDA and the failed hostile takeover of ECNL caused the war the led to what you see today. VDA, like PDA, Stars, etc were smart and got out after year one. Many other clubs followed year two. FCV is now on the outsode looking in while playing in a league proped up by them and tophat. The only way back in is though a partnership with BRYC. That will strengthen BRYC and Loudoun and to a lesser degree, VDA. Arlington will partner back with Mclean which will strengthen Mclean. Arlington a d FCV need to come to terms with the future. |
My understanding is TSJFCV told them they were not coming back at the the end of 2019-2020 season. To which the reply was leave now/don’t come back for the spring season. |
Arlington and Mclean????? |
hmm |
Yes. That was the partnership prior to DA. Nothing new |
Clearly someone has a vested interest in McLean to keep brining up a partnership from 5 years ago. We all know McLean can’t compete without the Arlington pipeline, but accept the fact that Arlington doesn’t need McLean - they’ll be fine on their own. OTH, McLean’s younger teams have not been competitive for several years. Maybe they should spend time developing players instead of trying to recruit Arlington kids. |
