I’m the PP that’s being referenced with regard to obese people not being careful and I’m obese. I don’t remember when in the pandemic it became clear that obese people were at greater risk of bad complications, but it’s been a while and I’ve been super careful (vaccinated as soon as my age group was eligible, masking, not eating out, no “fun” trips, etc). I just don’t get these people who, no matter what lies they want to believe, must know on some level that this is dangerous, especially for big people. |
My obese Alabama Trump-loving cousins are anti-mask and anti-vax. They also don't think they are fat (they weigh 300lbs+). They relayed how offensive it was that their doctor mentioned their high weight. One of the ways I explain their behavior to myself is that everyone around them is the same - very large, Trump-loving Covid-deniers. So in their world, they are perfectly normal. Either that or they are in deep denial or really ignorant. Could be a combination. I love them anyway, and I hope for the best. |
Those numbers don't say what you think they say. You stated that in most states, white population is >60%. Then it would make sense that 60% of the covid deaths in that state are white. There are a handful of states where the number of deaths for that demographic group swing up or down as a % of that demographic population, but most states show that the # of deaths are in line with the % of population. |
Getting back on topic, there are probably going to be more Texas Republican leaders infected. Abbott was at a Republican Heritage Club fundraiser hours before he tested positive. You can see pics on Twitter. Not a mask in sight.
|
Most of those folks are vaccinated. They don't want to die. They don't mind killing off a few "deplorable" to stay in power. Every. Single. Governor is vaccinated. All FOX commentators are vaccinated. Many preachers and pastors who tell their flocks not to wear masks are vaccinated. |
I really wouldn’t assume that with a roomful of rich Texas GOP donors. And I hope they feel in their bones the sickness, death and maybe lifelong afflictions they will have caused in children. |
How do you know most are vax? |
We might be related, PP, because I also have obese Alabama Trump-loving cousins. The mom/grandma even died of Covid last winter, and one of her sons was hospitalized. A couple of the women are nurses and have been vaccinated, and from what I can tell from social media there seems to be some kind of falling out between them and guys who are still anti-vax, anti-mask, anti-Fauci, etc. I hope for the best too, but they're so brainwashed it's just sad. |
Aaaand another one. Christian conservative radio host Jimmy Deyoung died from COVID. He had been pushing crazy "vaccine is for global gubmint control" and "they are using it to sterilize wimmen" conspiracy theories.

This one was literally posted on the previous page. Keep up. |
DP.. to be fair.. there are just too many to keep up, and too many pages to read through. |
Wrong. The previous page just mentioned he was hospitalized (not dead yet). |
He's dead. Thoughts and prayers. Missouri state Rep. Sara Walsh announced Thursday that her husband has died from COVID-19. https://www.thedailybeast.com/missouri-lawmaker-sara-walshs-unvaccinated-husband-dies-from-covid-19 |
God didn't protect them, huh? Tots and pears |
