Burke is a BIG deal in the religious right and GOP. Close ties to Leonard Leo, FedSoc, the preoccupation with judges, etc.

He’s one of the main conservative figures in American Catholicism criticizing the Pope.

Jackass Burke was going around saying the vaccine was implanting microchips so that the state could control the people.
And now he's on a ventilator asking for prayers. Nope. No prayers for you, Burke. You do not deserve prayers.
Seriously, this brand of conservatism IS a mental disease.

+1. Time to let God’s will be done and give that vent to a kid or someone more deserving.

I’m not wishing death on him, but it’s gross that someone who doesn’t believe in assisted reproduction because it flies in the face of God’s will is thwarting God’s will by using artificial means to keep breathing.

I agree. Hypocrite. He’s thwarting God’s will. I hope God issues a recall.

It really bothers me, too. Either using medical technology for good ends is good or it’s not, and this level of hypocrisy is Lucifer waiting in the hallway to take his next victim.

I can’t click through right now, but from his face he looks like a fairly big guy, and large people are one of the riskiest groups. I wonder why these people keep rolling the dice by refusing all common sense prevention strategies.

They think they're the Chosen One.

They think only blacks and browns die of covid like only gays die of hiv.

That's the weird thing - the largest Covid deaths by race is white. But no one's ever accused the GOP followers of intelligence.

In almost every state in this union the white demographic is 60% or more of the deaths. Most are closer to 80%.

https://www.kff.org/other/state-indicator/covid-19-deaths-by-race-ethnicity/

354,000 Covid deaths - white
107,000 Covid deaths - hispanic
87,000 Covid deaths - black
22,000 Covid deaths - asian

Republican white guys in Daytona, Florida, appear to be a high-risk group for Covid complications.

Circuit Judge Steven Henderson is hospitalized with COVID as is WNDB radio talk show host Marc Bernier. Port Orange City Councilman Chase Tramont was in and out of the hospital for the virus. George Mirabel, for exec director of the Daytona Chamber, died while hospitalized for COVID on Tuesday. Only Mirabel was vaccinated, but he had underlying immuno-compromised health issues that led to his death.

I have the same questions as the PPs: Why do all these chubby people think they're not at risk for a serious case of Covid?

I have a very large coworker. You better believe he was super careful all last year and was first in line for the vaccine. Obesity has nothing to do with IQ and ability to read data.

You misunderstood my question. I'm wondering why all these chubby Republicans aren't being careful like your coworker. Looking at all these photos, most of the very sick and dead Republicans in this thread have one of the biggest risk factors for severe Covid.
