So no money back, whether you go next week or not they're lining their pockets but you do get the choice to cruise with them another time. Good for them, okay for the cruisers. |
Similar news from Disney. All cruises between now and 5/31 can be rebooked for up to one year from original sail date. Cruise credits are non-refundable and expire 1 year from sail date. So you can't rebook and then later cancel for a refund.
What do you guys think - should I move my Spring Break cruise? To when? My options are basically this summer or next Spring Break. |
Move to next spring break |
Hell no. |
Yeah, its the same with Disney and I agree its not great. My husband is still convinced that Disney will start cancelling whole cruises in which case we WOULD be refunded, so he wants to play chicken. We keep quoting the "Song for the Dumped" by Ben Folds Five (we are old) - "Give me my money back, give me my money back, you B----!" |
Why not? Is it really going to be any worse there than here at that point. |
St barths? Late March. There are three confirmed cases |
I’m the pp going to Vienna and Budapest. I work at a hospital and multiple MD’s have said to go and not worry about it. They encourage basic precautions that the CDC recommends. I’m following cdc recs of course but so far seems very low risk for me! We’ll see by the end of March. It feels reassuring that the many MD’s at my hospital are NOT super concerned about the younger, healthy adults and children. I’m excited to go, been planning it a long time. |
DD age 13.5 (a very mature kid) is scheduled to fly alone to Portland, OR in late March to visit family. She will stay at their house; no hotels. Nonstop flights to/from DCA/PDX.
She would be very careful about what she touched, washing hands, etc while on the plane and traveling. She's more meticulous than I am. Once she's there she'll mostly be outdoors, not doing much in the way of tourist sites or indoor spaces. My biggest concern would be that if she was a on a plane with people who were discovered to be infected, she could be put in quarantine without one of her parents (since we aren't flying with her). Could they, would they, do that to a minor? |
Of course. You need to consider whether she is mature enough for that. I imagine she would receive some additional attention from whoever is in charge of the quarantine, but you should be prepared for that possibility, however remote. |
Healthrow Baggage Handlers test positive
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-06/london-heathrow-baggage-handlers-test-positive-for-virus this was the nail in the coffin for our london/paris trip starting tomorrow. |
You have til 24 hours before the cruise so you're not really playing chicken just yet... no need to make a decision until just before your cruise. |
True, and our flights are SW points which we can redeposit for free so definitely going to just sit tight. |
Your husband is dreaming. Even if they cancel they never refund - you get a credit just like when a flight is cancelled. |
Not true. If they cancel your cruise (or your flight) a full refund is offered. |
