Lol. Do you even know what that means? |
How many fcv parents are on this forum? Is it just 2 crazies or an army? Does each team designate a DCUM parent before the start of every season? |
I’ll bet it’s the team mom managers |
What's dishonest about that article is that some of these players got this commitments before going to TSJ. They are taking credit for commitments they didn't participate in. |
|
That us fair but you can also argue that players with offers in hand recognized that FCV was a better platform to prepare for the next level.
I live in DC and have zero affiliation with FCV but respect the program and McLean. |
Yes I do |
Eleven names on the list were not on the team last year. That is half the list. LMAO. |
I have no issue with that. Every player should go where they think they will best grow as a player. It's the article and self-adulation that I'm taking issue with. |
I guess I am the designated DCUM parent for my daughter's older FCV team. Regarding comment about younger "pre DA" team, Not sure what age we are referring to? DA starts at 07. (Were they younger than that?) FCV players 07 and above are encouraged to and are often capable of spotting opportunities to bypass midfield while not losing possession, not just randomly kicking the ball forward but making long passes. That does not mean they don't also play the ball back or to a midfielder. I have no first hand knowledge of FCV 08 and below, but most younger players have not developed the strength needed to accurately make a long pass on a large field or to receive a long pass without losing possession. |
This is what well-coached teams do. Teams are often accused of kickball by ignorant parents on dcum. |
| Well coached teams play possession, play through the middle and break the lines, run it up the side and cross it in. Well coached teams do not rely on bypassing the midfield chronically nor do they attempt to force it through chronically. The only reason to chronically bypass your midfield is if it is weak and can't maintain possession. ManCity, Barca, Real Madrid use their midfields and I would call them well coached. |
Just because the midfield doesn’t get the ball from the defenders, does not mean they are not used. Right back can play striker and striker can lay it off for a midfielder. I see this all the time with good youth teams and pro games on TV. |
Yes. Younger than that. 9v9. First pass from goalie wide. 2nd pass a long ball to a wing or forward and then it was an attempt to get a third pass in front of fast girl to breakaway and she was going to goal. Rinse and repeat. Players had skills and weren’t playing a team they could not compete with but direct again and again and again. |
At first blush, this sounds like a post from someone that knows very little about the game. |
| lots of soccer experts in here. didnt know we had such pedigree on the board! |
