Stop the FCV (DA) and McLean (ECNL) hate

Yawn. Past performance is no guarantee of future performance. My DD will do what is convenient and will get her seen — and that would have been FCV or Mclean 3 years ago, but it’s not anymore.

And it will NOT be Loudoun until there is a complete overhaul of staff there.

+1000 - potential to be an amazing club if they could get better staff that focuses on actual player development and technical skills...

Saw one of FCVs younger pre-DA teams a few weeks ago. Thought they would be technical based on their reputation. Not really. Lot of athletes and size. Lot of the backs playing the forwards and bypassing the midfield all together.

Sometimes, but why coach to skip the midfield over and over? Instead, maybe coach the midfield and backline to better handle the pressure. It's a terrible trend and looks purely American to me. Every league I see outside of the US wants a strong and involved midfield.

I simply made the statement about breaking lines. I don't know how often the team did it that was watched. The teams I watch every day don't do that often, only as opportunities. The focus is on possession.

True. I made the comment because I've seen a few teams play a lot that way with that as an excuse when it looks to me like a lot of long ball soccer. Some teams send those balls with a fair amount accuracy, and others just expect the front line to run those balls down. Either way, I don't mind a little mixing it up, but to see a midfield chronically removed from play (which I have) bothers me. It's what I don't like about some American pro teams and I even saw some of that in some of the National teams. I'm not sure if this is more on the women's side or not.
