Late the hate for FCV continue. https://www.soccerwire.com/news/the-st-james-fc-virginia-announces-22-player-early-signing-class/
How many fcv parents are on this forum? Is it just 2 crazies or an army? Does each team designate a DCUM parent before the start of every season?
I guess I am the designated DCUM parent for my daughter's older FCV team. Regarding comment about younger "pre DA" team, Not sure what age we are referring to? DA starts at 07. (Were they younger than that?) FCV players 07 and above are encouraged to and are often capable of spotting opportunities to bypass midfield while not losing possession, not just randomly kicking the ball forward but making long passes. That does not mean they don't also play the ball back or to a midfielder. I have no first hand knowledge of FCV 08 and below, but most younger players have not developed the strength needed to accurately make a long pass on a large field or to receive a long pass without losing possession.
Yes. Younger than that. 9v9. First pass from goalie wide. 2nd pass a long ball to a wing or forward and then it was an attempt to get a third pass in front of fast girl to breakaway and she was going to goal. Rinse and repeat. Players had skills and weren’t playing a team they could not compete with but direct again and again and again.
