Nor did any DC area ECNL team. Some of the other MA teams placed top 10. This is a small sample of the ECNL teams and the MA teams did not do well with a limited number of ECNL teams represented.

Maryland United was 1-1-1 with a 0 goal differential (best from DC Metro area)
McLean had 0-2-1 record and -2 goal differential.
Loudoun with an 0-2-1 record with a -4 goal differential.
BRYC was 4 spots behind that with an 0-2-1 record and -8 goal differential.
VDA was last with an 0-3-0 record (30th out of 32 teams) - I read on here that VDA would nosedive this season. Some poster was spot on!

Other MA teams
#5 Charlotte 2-0-1 (Best record from the MA region)
#9 Wilmington 2-0-1
#10 NC Fusion 2-0-1
#25 South Carolina United 0-2-1
Richmond 0-2-1
CESA 1-2-0
NCFC 0-3-1 (Last place in all of U15)

Why are these discussions always 2005 focused??

Other then the last post, it looks like they were talking about the 07 drama, and the 06 effort to recruit a goalie and strikers. No need to get so defensive about your 05 team's play.

DP. That's fine, but before that it was pages of 05 talk. And the poster didn't even qualify it was 05 stats. As if that should just be understood.

Most of the older teams killed (won the games) and they didn't even send their best players. For this area the teams either sent youngers to play up in the big "combine" pool or the older "committed" girls stayed back in the regular age grouping. So....knowing the best of the age group weren't even there.. they did very very well.

This is simply not true. As the NOVA teams got older they tended to do better on average but did not “kill” it by any stretch, and it was inconsistent across clubs.

Besides, showcases are for PLAYERS to show off, not teams. Not sure why they even have scores / standings there. What they should do is have club coaches tier their own players into 4 levels and then the tourney randomly form teams, letting all the 1s and 2s play together and 3s and 4s play together. Then have the college coaches / scouts coach the teams. Practice day 1 to get players and coaches familiar with their teams, and then games day 2 and 3. Would be a much more effective way to expose coaches to players and expose players to college coaching. The way it is done now is silly. No one cares how McLean or BRYC or Loudoun did. We only care if “our” players played well and got good exposure.

If the best players stayed home this sorta happened by default. The lower level kids showed up with hope.

That would be a pretty unruly setup with 60+ teams per age group.

There are ways to make this possible but to your point, it would be beyond the skill sets of many coaches and coordinators. Anyhow, it won’t happen so explaining the details of the how is not worth the typing time. I suppose there are college ID camps for the sort of thing I am proposing anyhow.

I like the idea but I just think there are far to many teams and the incredible internal politics on the club side to get selected to the top tier would be terrible.

There is some potential but it would be pretty tough to do.

That would be a pretty unruly setup with 60+ teams per age group.

Are you pushing more ODP type events.

McLean soccer and ODP are synonymous.

no no no..look at the new rosters just posted. there is only one

This thread is so off the rails. What difference does it make? ODP hasn't been the same for 2, going on 3 years now, and it was declining before that.
