Usha Vance - Fashion Thread

She’s very attractive, but like the rest…she could benefit from a stylist! It’s not an insult at all. She’s quite pretty.

I don’t know enough about all of the people who work for the Second Spouse, but I can’t imagine that there aren’t at least 3 - 5 of them. Is it no one’s job to say, “Straighten your dress just a bit so it looks better in the photo?” If my photo is being professionally taken, I sure hope someone tells me! I sure hope someone tells her if she walks out of the ladies room with toilet paper stuck to her shoes!

That's how much of a rookie/unprepared she is for her role, she doesn't even have a headshot for the White House website.

She does indeed have a headshot on that page.

She looks nice here. I like it!

I hate the color of the dress.

You probably hate the shade of the dress because it doesn't complement your coloring. It doesn't complement Usha's. But it is a color that flatters some (like me).

On the other hand, the first thing I thought when I saw Usha in the pink coat was how much the shade flattered her. (Wouldn't do a thing for me.)

She should wear that shade of pink more and stay away from that shade of chestnut brown. Either that or wear a scarf in a flattering shade near her face. But then she would be mocked for wearing a scarf.

If this thread has taught us anything it's that she will be mocked for anything and everything.

No. You keep saying that but that does not make it so. She will be mocked for oversized, ill fitting dress coats with odd details worn with casual boots and an updo, she will be mocked for a prom dress off the rack for a ball, she will be mocked for unkempt hair, she will be mocked for a messy picture, she will be mocked for a large white satin-y outfit in January. I would mock anyone in any public position for these outfits and so would most people. She will be mocked for looking like schlumpy shi$, like most first and Second Ladies, so if she doesn’t want that, she should step it on up, or just not care. Either way, she should hire a stylist because anyone that is wearing such dominant clothes that are wearing them and is being photographed etc. should probably hire a stylist.

That's new, it wasn't there yesterday.

I know people were talking about how old she looks earlier, and I actually disagreed with them until now - up until now I thought she looked like she was in her late 30s, but in this picture she looks like a youthful 50 year old (she actually looks a lot like my sister, but my sister highlights her hair to get rid of the grays).

That’s a different photo than what was there earlier. Before they slapped up an AP photo as if she’s not that important.

It's exactly ONE day after the inauguration. Calm down.

DP but they HAVE been prepping for this for almost three months now. She's an attorney, how could she not have had a decent headshot ready to go?

She should be in red.

Melania is in her darth Vader black era, so Usha should have sported Republican red.

Jill looks nice in Democrat Blue.

Kamala is in a black pantsuit.

Ivanka is cosplaying Kate Middleton in Hunter green—including a fascinator.

I had the exact same thought!

They are both tall with similar figures. Ivanka got great genes from Ivana.

Misogynist hypocrites, to be more precise. The ultra-critical posters would be going out of their mind if these ugly comments were directed toward any liberal woman.

I think it’s something beyond politics that’s driving the responses here. I just haven’t put my finger on it yet.

The critical posts are so over-the-top as to be trollish. The way some of these posters are harshly criticizing everything about her appearance is something else.

Any woman in the limelight gets torn apart. Are you new here?

Were Karen Pence and Gwen Walz torn down like that? I don’t remember it.

No but neither of them was young with a nice body, PP. Stop making false comparisons. People DID tear down Kamala Harris while no one else has ever commented on a Vice President's fashion before. There ya go.

Yes, I’m not sure why she looks so old - most of my south Asian friends look so young - but she does.

Anonymous wrote:Usha and Melanie are both very pretty women! Any typical DC woman would love to have either of their looks. Be real!

Usha is not a pretty woman, she has good height, decent features and a fit body BUT her gray hair, under eyes circles age her a lot and she wants to wear these as a badge of honor so it’s fair that we criticize how we want.

Exactly. She thinks she's better than women who take pride in their appearance. Of course the Trump crew is probably thrilled because they think she'll appeal to ordinary women who don't have the botoxed and bleached look that a lot of MAGA women have.

No one is falling for it.

The bolded and your concluding wannabe snapping it off sentence are both deranged. What’s your issue? What suggests that this woman does not “take pride” in her appearance? I don’t get it. And I’ve posted - not her neighbor, not Indian American, not her friend, not Republican. Like how does this woman’s appearance get under your skin to this degree? I don’t think anything about her styling is an F-you to any of us watching her.

I think it is very clear that she wears the gray hair and underage bags as a badge of honor as PP said. If you can't see that, I can't make you see it. That's not me being a "wannabe" that's me seeing what is obvious to several people in this thread.

And she doesn't get under my skin to this degree. I think she actually looks nice today, largely because she appears to have spent time grooming herself.

+1 to all of this

DP, which means "different poster," by the way.

I think it is obvious Usha sees herself as superior to a lot of people. She certainly sees herself as superior to other minorities.

Well to be fair she is.

The single point of interest this dress/outfit has are those seams. That's it. So, with that being the focal point, you'd think someone would've cared enough about the one detail the dress had to pay attention to making sure it was correct.

They used a hack photographer using a canned headshot pose. I have had my picture taken in this awkward pose - she is sitting on an uncomfortable stool, her body is seated with her knees pointing to the right, but her upper body is twisted slightly to face the photographer. She had no chance with that dress and this pose. A good photographer would have known better and taken the picture with her standing up. That doesn't excuse the color of her dress, but the pose is the reason the seams aren't straight and her breasts look crooked. I blame the photographer or whoever insisted she sit down for the headshot.

My god. I would never in a million years have even noticed her seams. Never. Consider that this could be a you problem. It’s a great picture of her.
