Because if you know her, I get that, but if you're just regular Trump voters...you know she wouldn't piss if you if you were on fire, right? She literally emailed her friends about what white trash you all are like, 20 minutes before her dh was named VP

I haven't been rabidly defending her, but I don't think her fashion choices are worthy of all the harsh criticism, and I have said as much here.

And no, I have never voted for Donald Trump. And I never would.

Okay. But what no one will answer is: Why is Usha exempt from criticism? There is a 75 page thread about Melania that I don't see you guys posting in every five minutes saying how misogynist and awful the posters are.

She is in the public eye and we can discuss her. It's not personal, it's fashion.

You really don’t understand the difference between a professional model and a lawyer?

I'm not clear on how a lawyer is unable to straighten her outfit before a photo is taken, but maybe it's some special Usha handicap. Okay then, poor thing.

There are so many things you're not clear on.

How had it is for some people to wear clothes, absolutely.

I think one problem with the white dress she wore this morning is that it, once again, doesn't fit that well.

I also think part of what is happening with fit is that none of these things would look oversized in person. She's very petite, clothes just kind of hang on her -- in person the effect might even be flattering to sort of emphasize how trim she is.

But she's under too much scrutiny for that.

She needs a good tailor and she needs to get used to having her clothes fitted. I doubt people would care if her clothes aren't that exciting and if she repeats outfits a lot. But she should get things really well fitting so that when she is photographed, it creates a nicer silhouette and things don't look like they are hanging off her.

The pink coat is pretty, I wish it was more fitted. And also should the scarf be tucked under the belt? I think that looks weird.

I think the problem is she looks like she's playing dress-up and hasn't figured out how to just wear clothes. Like look at Kamala - she looks normal. That's because she wears clothes like this all the time - knows what she's comfortable in, what works for her. Usha is, I guess, new to being in the public eye and so she's like the intern at work whose skirts are either too short and tight or too frumpy or too something, because she does't know just how to buy and wear clothes appropriate for the setting. (I was that intern, long past being an intern.)

Like this coat is pretty, the color is pretty - it's a little too big, she looks uncomfortable, it's the wrong color for a grown woman who is also an accomplished lawyer, etc.

?? Now you can only wear certain colors if you are professionally accomplished? It's a muted pink. It's not neon or something. I find the color very elegant even if the look itself isn't amazing.

I would actually love to see someone in a neon pink coat in the dead of January! As long as it was elegantly tailored, I would be up for this look.

I liked the pink color but the coat was so puffed out it made her look like an Oompa Loompa.

Those must be the friends that were posting here all weekend, LOL

I'm guessing most of her friends are nerdy lawyers like her and this would explain why her clothes are pretty meh.

Get a stylist, girl! You don't have to go high fashion but people are going to be taking your photograph continuously for four years. Find someone who will put together a system for you that works for most events and then will create evening looks for you when you need one. And I think you need to start from scratch on your hair -- get a lob and a deep condition, start scheduling monthly trims to keep it in shape, follow directions regarding washing and drying.

This isn't about vanity. This is the job she signed on for.

Actually her “job” is to stay bland and out of the limelight. Who has ever cared what the second lady wears? Half the time we don’t even remember her name.

+1
She looked great and not at all like someone who was demanding the spotlight. In short, she looked just right. I loved her inauguration ball gown and her pink coat.

That coat was humongous and weird and it showed off her crazy gray hair which looks awful. I don’t GAF who designed it it did not fit and it looked crazy.

You sound utterly crazy. The coat fit her perfectly. It's a *coat* not a bodycon dress. I don't care who designed it either - she looked lovely.

Here's Kamala Harris's coat from Inauguration 2021. Now THIS is a humongous and ill-fitting coat. I'm sure you agree.

Meh. She was probably forced to wear a bullet proof vest.
nope, Kamala was just poorly dressed.

Anonymous wrote:To me, Usha is average looking but is fit and toned. She could improve with better hair and makeup.

Her fashion choices seem to be of a woman who does not normally care about fashion or pay attention to it. She is still figuring out what looks good on her. Her fashion choices don't seem particularly interesting or well fitted or appropriate for the occasion. I feel that pink coat was the wrong color, the belt looked weird. The white coat seemed almost bridal. The coats she chooses overwhelm her frame.

Her dresses often are ill fitting, the strapless ones do not do her figure favors when they are too tight in the chest for that multicolored one or the weird buttons on the dark strapless dress.

Is she that toned? She is thin, for sure, not calling her fat, but I don't see toned. Just slim. She looks like she exercises but not significantly.

OMG. I loathe her husband and jury's out on her, but for God's sake.

She needs to hire a stylist and make up artist.

That's how much of a rookie/unprepared she is for her role, she doesn't even have a headshot for the White House website.

She does indeed have a headshot on that page.

She looks nice here. I like it!

It was more Pepto Bismol pink than Mamie Eisenhower pink. But I think it looked nice against her skin even if the coat was an oddly shaped.

This board is full of mockery for DC lawyer fashion. But turns out DC lawyers cannot wear certain colors even if they are muted.

I hate the color of the dress.
