Do DC local politicians ever go anywhere in the Democratic party anyways? The D operatives in the Politico article make it sound like DC council is beneath the notice of most people in politics. Almost described the recall as solely to slap DC clowns back into reality.

Not anymore. We are a laughingstock that’s known wide and near thanks to Allen, Mendo and Nadeau

Oh, and the crazy dude who thinks Jews control the weather.

DC Council is slow walking the crime bill but worry not Allen is proud of a traffic calming measure and adding a justice-involved murderer, sorry, individual to the sentencing commission

So when is it enough? Carjackings, robberies, murder, grifting… He’s destroyed our property values and doubled our car insurance. Out!

I do wish you would be more genuine in our interactions. You asked me as an educator what Allen has done for education. I find it rude that you are twisting what I said and framing it as Allen's only point of pride.
He was one of 12 ppl who voted for Caston on the sentencing committee. I'm pretty sure it was mendos nomination. I think I'll have to start reporting your comments if you won't engage in good faith anymore.

Love the comment “culturally supported ATVs”.

I'm genuinely curious who you hope to convince sharing the same materials over and over. It seems we're in two camps. People who believe Allen is solely responsible for every crime in dc; and people who believe it is more nuanced. We get where you stand.

Stop pretending there is only one Allen opponent on this thread. We raised $75k

Any thread on Allen was being deleted in under 24 hours just a few months ago, could care less if you run to the principal to report us

dcum is cheaper than therapy for DC Council-induced PTSD. Need the $ for car insurance

I’m a PP, and the “teacher” is boring me. So, I’ll just add that Charles Allen is finished in the Democratic Party and I have than on good authority. That’s enough for me. Thank you for your service

I'm sorry if you misinterpreted my point. Whomever is responding saying "Allen is proud of a traffic calming measure" is using my words to speak for Allen, which is disingenuous. I'm very aware of the fundraising efforts, and am very curious if the amount of money will correlate to a true grassroots movement. 700 people is still less than 10% of the signatures needed for a recall. It will be interesting to see.

If that was enough, why spend all this money on a recall? Why force DC to allocate financial resources to a special election if you believe his time is up in two years anyway?

I’m actually shocked this thread hasn’t been deleted. All the previous ones on Allen have been and the moderator has come out in his defense several times. He’s also noted on the website forum “I already have my hands full with the racists posting about crime in the Metro forum.” That this stood even this long tells me it’s by popular demand. I’m sure it could be deleted any second not that it matters

No matter what, this recall is a tool of civil disobedience against an out of touch, self-serving Council. Allen is just the biggest jerk on it with the best organized Democratic operators in his Ward who know how to run a campaign. I hope Nadeau is next

The recall has the point enough in itself. The voice. If this one doesn’t succeed the next one will.

But at least the citizens are no longer patronized by Allen into fiddling while the city burns
