Both teams have several really good midfielders. But on a combined basis, Pride is probably a stronger midfield group.

Stars seems to rely on two main middies, but Pride looks like they have more like 4-5 to rely on

Put them together, and they could be dangerous

Sorry, I meant 2-3 for stars. Fat fingers

Put them together, and they could be dangerous

Would any Stars players actually leave to go to Pride? Speak freely - this is an anonymous thread.

Stars parent here. No disrespect, but I would never move to Pride. The goal is Capital and Stars has set my daughter up really well to transition to her goal of making Capital

Agree. Pride deeper middie line with depth but Stars has 4 really solid middies. Pride middie depth different right now. Stars attack strong then Pride. Pride D much stronger. And no Stars player will go over to Pride. Only way that happens is if a Stars Light Blue player gets moved down to Navy this summer. Then you might see movement.

How many Stars/Pride players will make Cap Blue (not looking to start a fight, just wondering what parents think is likely number from their respective teams understanding that Pride may keep some of the girls in HS).

Why would you not move to a better club with more talent? Just curious to hear why. Agree end goal is Capital but Pride seems to be the stronger team.

Stars 28 is playing for the Capital 28 Blue coach now. If he is picking the team when they get to high school, why would I not want my child in front of her possible future coach? Getting her placed on a top team in high school in order to get recruited is so much more important than winning in middle school. Middle school means nothing in the long run.

Does this make sense? Not putting Pride down, just trying to put my daughter in the best possible position for the future beyond Middle School

Pride is tough to predict on how many will go to Capital Blue because they will need to elect to try out

If in a perfect world, I would say Pride 8, Stars 6, Next Level/BLC 4, random teams 4

This is the most persistent, repeated, and fruitless debate on this board. Usually it's other direction: "when is Pride going to Stars?" There was supposed to be some big exodus of talent from Pride to Stars, apparently to better position for Capital, remember? Didn't happen... Pride stayed together and went 6-2 in NGLL.

Can we just accept that there are two solid teams in NoVA, with different cultures, good coaches, and established players? That's not such a bad thing. Both teams improved last year and the top players on both are getting lots of playing and development time--including, critically, with the ball in their stick in challenging games.

Some of them will play together this summer at American Select and get a chance to see what the combined skill sets can do against good competition. That's good enough for now. Let's just let them do their thing for another 14 months until Capital tryouts and see what happens then?

Again...there will be no major transfer of top players from either Pride nor Stars to the other club. Not going to happen. Not worth the continued oxygen or electrons.

I asked the q about Stars/Pride players to Capital - did not know it came up earlier (I have not been here for all 38 pages of this thread). Just seemed like a timely question going into the tournament season before 8th grade.
