Both teams have several really good midfielders. But on a combined basis, Pride is probably a stronger midfield group.

Stars seems to rely on two main middies, but Pride looks like they have more like 4-5 to rely on

Put them together, and they could be dangerous

Would any Stars players actually leave to go to Pride? Speak freely - this is an anonymous thread.

Stars parent here. No disrespect, but I would never move to Pride. The goal is Capital and Stars has set my daughter up really well to transition to her goal of making Capital

Why would you not move to a better club with more talent? Just curious to hear why. Agree end goal is Capital but Pride seems to be the stronger team.

Stars 28 is playing for the Capital 28 Blue coach now. If he is picking the team when they get to high school, why would I not want my child in front of her possible future coach? Getting her placed on a top team in high school in order to get recruited is so much more important than winning in middle school. Middle school means nothing in the long run.

Does this make sense? Not putting Pride down, just trying to put my daughter in the best possible position for the future beyond Middle School

Did he coach Stars last year?

Sorry? To be clear, did he coach Stars 2028 last year or was that someone else?

He helped coach a different grad year for Stars last year.

How many Stars/Pride players will make Cap Blue (not looking to start a fight, just wondering what parents think is likely number from their respective teams understanding that Pride may keep some of the girls in HS).

Pride is tough to predict on how many will go to Capital Blue because they will need to elect to try out

If in a perfect world, I would say Pride 8, Stars 6, Next Level/BLC 4, random teams 4

Are we talking Capital in general or Capital Blue? I do not see a BLC player or NL player making Blue.

Next Level has two to three girls that will definitely make it. They have a few girls with a lot of talent. You well be shocked where some of these girls come from. They will not all be Stars or Pride

Interesting. I did not see anyone on NL stand out against Stars this year but I hope I am wrong.

Next level definitely has a few girls that have the talent for Capital blue.

There are girls that left teams like BLC, Pride, Stars and Next Level for MD teams. Some of them will come back to tryout for Capital so there will be strong players at tryouts outside of just Pride and Stars. Expect the unexpected
Anonymous
NL parent. Nobody from NL left for a MD team at 2028. Can’t speak for other clubs.

I don’t have a daughter who plays for NL but I have seen them play over the years against my daughter’s teams at various age groups. I would be shocked if any of them were real contenders for a Capital team. They are good players but nowhere near competitive enough for Capital. It’s a solid option for some kids but not those who are really looking to play in college. They just aren’t coached at a high enough level. If you are a NL parent on here whose kid went on to play for Capital then please correct me!

This is a 2028 board. Did you see NL play this year during spring NGLL? They absolutely have some Capital-level players. You don’t know what you are talking about. I’m not a NL parent either, BTW.

NL has two girls that could make Capital Blue. Both middies. That is it

Playing on Stars and for the potential Capital coach doesn’t guarantee or set up anyone to make the team. The best players will make the team regardless if they have played for Stars and Coach P or not. The best athletes will make the top team.

I don’t think anyone is saying that it guarantees a spot but if you don’t think it provides an edge your delusional.

You are right, it doesn’t guarantee any one will make it. That isn’t what I said. What I said is that my daughter gets more time spent in front of him so he can see on a more in-depth basis if he wants her on the blue team or not.

I would rather she build that trust and relationship with him now.

If that isn’t your jam, then so be it. Everyone has a different path

I'm surprised to hear the 2028 CLC Blue coach has already been selected. Please tell me how this was communicated. Thank you.

It is typically the same coaches at capital that rotate through the age groups. So, the coach of the 24s will finish with them this summer and start back over with the 27s and take them through. The Coach of the 25s will have the 28s, the 26s will have the 29s etc.

Nothing has been communicated. They run on a three year rotation. This coach has been the Blue coach for the last several cycles through. Could we all be wrong, absolutely. But statistically speaking, I would say he will be the 28 Blue coach
