Their current attachment to Loudoun is for fields but mostly players, since that seems to be the selling point they're using to argue with ECNL about keeping that badge.

so what are you saying ... a parent should base their club selection on whether or not they own their own fields? How is that relevant to anything?

The FCV claim that "we've met the criteria to stay in ECNL" has nothing to do with the partnership with Loudoun and everything to do with their past success rate in ECNL.

The location information was in response to the PP that keeps saying "where the f@ck is FCV"

Earlier in this thread another PP stated that adding the Loudoun player pool was the basis for being able to meet the criteria to field competitive teams for both GDA and ECNL. Their past ECNL success would only give them competitive teams in one or the other. Their United teams alone cannot fill those shoes for them.

Post on another forum back in December:

"ECNL is telling dual clubs they need to place 4/5 teams in the champions league. Rumor has it certain clubs are putting their A team in the ECNL and B teams in the GDA.

So does a second teamer want to play DA with restrictions or NPL with no restrictions.

easy answer: as the 2nd teamer has zero chance of playing on the WNT she choose NPL."

Reply:

"- have you seen that in writing (4 out of 5 in CL)? I have heard similar things - 3 teams/year over 3 years and 4/5 as you state - but find anything in writing.

There are so few clubs that would meet that criteria, the entire 1st team/2d team is likely less important (these are the uber successful clubs so their 2d teams are very strong; most clubs, even successful ones, have a decent gap between 1st and 2d come the HS ages)."

FCV knows it will not meet these criteria. Not enough good players out here to do it. Too many other good options for 2nd teamers to go to.

Something similar to that criteria (I don't recall the exact details) was voiced at the FCV town hall as being the ECNL requirement to retain a berth (for new DA teams). FCV said that the club has met that criteria based on past experience. I'm taking it at face value and haven't checked the records.

Between Loudoun and FCV alone there are enough kids to field a competitive ECNL team.

You have to remember ECNL will take a talent hit, especially at the younger ages. And this will be overall through ECNL. Likely only the older age groups would remain mostly in tact as kids are well into the recruiting process and might find changing leagues or clubs might be detrimental.

I am not saying that ECNL will allow FCV to remain in the league but considering the almost universal talent dip (dip, not drop or bottoming out) in ECNL Loudoun and FCV could theoretically field competitive ECNL teams. I also believe that ECNL will remain a viable option for only college bound players who are either multsport athletes and those late bloomers like the B and C team "Messi's" earlier discussed.

This year will be a cluster no doubt about it.

Any reports from the Loudoun / FCV sessions today?

Saw the 04's. There is enough talent there to make two equally strong teams. Equal representation from FCV and Loudoun in this age group.

As the teams got older, it appeared to be mostly FCV girls with some Loudoun girls. Didn't see too many kids from outside the two clubs.

FCV will not be able to accommodate all the talent..which is a great thing for the club..but a bad thing for the player.

Nobody has said that FCV is staying in ECNL with certainty only that it is not yet certain that they are out of ECNL.

What is fact is they are still in ECNL and are attempting to remain in ECNL.

Personally, I doubt that they will remain in ECNL beyond next year at best and will likely be out by Springs end.

Some people have seen the upcoming fall conferences. I think that is why some people know they are out for 2017-2018
