True, but I think the GDA will also deliver for players seeking a path to college, assuming it can attract top talent. College coaches will absolutely continue to recruit at ECNL events, but don't you think they'll also show up at the DA showcases? Especially in this first year when everyone's trying to figure out what GDA is all about. Tough time to be a rising sophomore or junior in elite girls' soccer...lots of options and tough decisions to make.

The GDA has snatched up the majority of talent in southern california. That is the #1 pool of talent in the nation. For that fact alone, the colleges will be at the showcases. You must remember, showcases are national events..you can't just think about your current market.

Any PWSI or VSA parents want to give their outlook/projections on the strength of the girls VDA for next year?

From what I can tell..the VSA 03g team looks legit

My daughters Loudoun team won 2-1 against that group. They are good not great. Not a team that can compete at the highest level. 3rd bracket at the Jefferson Cup.

That was before the age change...they seem a tad better now...if they could picked up 4-5 good players they could be competitive. Saw a few ECNL girls trying out for them last week. Hope VDA can field some strong teams...it will be nice to have them as an option.

If Jeff Cup is your basis for comparing the 03G teams then look at where all the POWER NOVA teams are..Only BRYC is in top bracket.."your partner" FCV is in the 3rd bracket with VSA. Loudoun is in the fourth bracket..and the other ECNL team, McLean (which I believe is currently win-less in ECNL) is in the 6th bracket. Not really a good showing/respect for the elite NOVA teams in general. Which brings up the same old question, how can this area support 3 DA teams and 2 ECNL teams and be competitive with the rest of the Country?

Not an 03G parent, but Jeff Cup will normally spread VA teams throughout the brackets and try to make all the brackets geographically diverse. Just getting into Jeff Cup means you have a good team. If you could see the applied teams list, my guess is you would see a lot more NOVA teams that were not accepted.
