...and their desire to use the gender they identify with bathrooms.
I am a conservative. I don't think lesbian, homosexual, or bisexual behavior is morally appropriate. However, I respect their right to choose the lifestyle they want. Transgenders asking to use womens bathrooms when they are biologically male seems an entirely different application. The last thing I want to see is a man in the womens bathroom. What exactly will transgenders do- will they need/use urinals? Is this in our future? |
You DO realize that people who have penises can pee into a toilet, right? That they don't NEED a urinal. It's not like you'll walk into the women's bathroom to find a man peeing into the sink. And that most male bathrooms have a stall or two for people who have vaginas and can't pee into a urinal?
Lastly, they're more scared of us than we are of them. Am I startled to see a man in the women's bathroom? Yes. Do I smile and just ... get on with my business? Yes. When my DD asked "why was that man in here?" I said 'Because he feels like he should have been born a girl instead of a boy so he just does the girl things." |
Men are notoriously terrible with their aim. All of them. We don't need that kind of mess in the ladies room. Doesn't matter how they feel or what they are wearing. |
Oh please - women are filthy. There are times I go into a public bathroom and walk out holding it because all the stalls are disgusting. And not all men are terrible with aim. |
I don't understand this issue either. Democrat here. I don't think gay/transgender is morally wrong. But think transgender folks should use single bathrooms and if they aren't available they should use the one that matches their equipment. |
I agree... how many transgender people are there that we need to go through all of this?? |
Maybe a lot more than we realize because they see things like this being said and feel they have to keep it hidden? |
what is the "all of this" that we are going through? I'm sure there have been transgender people in your bathrooms all along, folks. |
I am relatively liberal, and don't really "get" transgender identity either. I believe in science and genetics. Chromosomes are chromosomes and anything else is just wishing. However, I don't have to get it. There is zero harm done to me by someone who has decided to live as the opposite gender, and kindness never hurt anyone. And I'm really not going to do a "look-inside-the-pants" test nor require a genome sequencing to use a bathroom, so this whole thing is completely ridiculous and a total waste of legislator resources. What actual work needed to be done and wasn't because of bozo laws like this? That may actually be doing me harm. |
I have a completely off the wall hypothesis on this but it stems from my religion so probably not going to be entertained well here. Here it is: I believe in reincarnation. That the soul enters the body sometime during gestation and exits during death. During each lifetime, the soul grows and learns lessons that are necessary for growth and liberation from this cycle of birth and death.
However, we sometimes start to get attached to our body. Rather than recognizing that we are not our body but we are our soul, we start to define our being by characteristics of our body. This becomes problematic for a soul that enters a body of different gender than the last life. For example, in my last life maybe I was in a feminine, strongly female defined body. Or maybe the last 10 life's, I have always been in a femail body. But in this life I am in a male body. Despite the current body form, my soul retained the attachment to the previous female forms and now I feel like I should be a woman. The feeling is strong because of my soul's strong association with my last bodies. Just my theory on this. |
What if their gender presentation doesn't match their "equipment?" There are plenty of folks living their lives as women or men whose "equipment" has not been changed. Not all trans* folks choose to have "bottom surgery," either because it is prohibitively expensive, or because they want to preserve the chance for biological children, or because that is just their preference. |
^^^This.
I don't see why this is so hard to understand. I was born female and I identify as female. My parts are female (sex) and I feel female (gender). Easy for me because stuff matches up. Frankly I don't personally care what bathroom I use or what other people use because everyone has the right to express their identity, whether or not I understand it. Additionally, I think single sex bathrooms are dumb. It's not like we have them at home. |
The thing about a transgendered using the bathroom is that how do you know if they are in a stall? |
I think this is a lot of hand wringing over nothing. But it does help the powers that be for everyone to be upset over these types of non-issues then to pay attention to truly important issues of foreign policy, and economics, and the direction of this country.
You guys are excellent sheeple! |
Have you guys seen FTM transgender people. They look like men. If your concern is your kid asking "Why is there a man in here?" You are still going to have to field that question if FTM are in the ladies' instead of MTF. |
