Meghan and Prince Harry are moving to the U.S./Canada - OFFICIAL

The titles are meaningless. Value lies in the association with the RF and its power, prestige, connections. For all intents and purposes they are cut off, and very publicly so.

I’ll bet there is lots of interest from the big media companies in the next year or two. Beyond that i’ll be curious to see how they reinvent themselves.

Those are mostly who hangs around in his circle. Celebs and want-to-be celebs. And richies and want-to-be richies. The retiring types, and normal people, don't pal around with princes.

How? She already stripped him of all military appointments, took away every one of his patronages, and now it looks like he won’t even be getting security funded. If the US has a case against him besides he said she said they would have gone after him.

However she’s still her son and she’s going to see the guy, go to church with him, and watch Netflix with him or whatever these people do for fun.

I think she knows that what we know publicly about Andrew is the tip of the iceberg. H&M also likely know a lot more. My feeling here is that enough was given up by H&M to make QE2 save face (hence all the rumors of "more," so she looks compassionate), but not enough to make H&M have to resort to a tell-all book.

H&M didn't lose all that much that really matters to them, and the door is open for a return. Both sides put forth a joint implied PR message about how they all didn't get what they want, so it looks like the Palace didn't entirely cave.

I suspect H&M's silence on Andrew was part of the deal.

Silence about Andrew was secondary. The real deal was Harry had to be silent about William.

That’s where the real damage to the royal family comes into play.

I think this is true too.

They do if they're his army friends.

Who wants to move to Canada and take a less prestigious job?

I would. The U.S. and the U.K. have been taken over by backward nutters. Canadians are nice, and they have snow.

I’m confused. In her statement she specifically says Harry will still be Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. Meghan is still Duchess of Sussex.

What exactly was taken away?

The HRH styling (his/ her royal highness) - apparently this is a big deal in the UK

She didn't formally "strip" them of their title (she would need to issue letters patent to do so" but she's no longer allowing them to call themselves HRH. So in all intents and purposes - they are no longer royal.

Also sounds like they are no longer "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex" ... but merely "Duke and Duchess of Sussex. " Apparently also a big deal to nobles. Like when Diana ceased to become "The Princess of Wales" but "Diana, Princess of Wales."

The Queen's children are styled "The Prince Edward" . The "The" in the beginning is important to them.

Also, no more royal patronages. No more representing the Queen or the country in any official capacity - no royal tours/boondoggles. No more pomp. Again, a big deal to them.

Not a big deal to the people matter, Harry and Meghan... and Oprah, and all of their A list friends. They are still royal to everyone else, especially on this side of the world. All this talk for title is just a big shrug to the jet set elite they hang with.

Not really. No one gave 2 shits about Meghan until she became a royal, by marrying a royal. Now, neither of them is royal.

So, now Prince Harry is still a prince... and still a Duke... and all the other titles I forget... but not royal, not at all. Mkay got it.

Sounds like a distinction without a difference.

Also, according to the queen’s statement they kept that oh so important HRH designation, they’re just not supposed to use it. Yawn. This seems like the palace trying REALLY hard to save face and show they took something away when in reality they’re keeping their titles.

Owning a house you can’t live in is meaningless. Or ‘owning’ a car you are not allowed to drive. That’s the HRH.

As for being a prince - not so sure he got to keep that. His new title is Harry, Duke of Sussex. Not
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.

Lastly - the royal divorce didn’t work for his great uncle and he got to keep the HRH.

Agree, but I don't think there was any real threat of Harry spilling secrets, and certainly not about his brother. William is still his brother and the one person he was closest to growing up and who shared the experience of losing their mother. No way is Harry going to feed his brother to the one institution is loathes above all others-- the media. I don't even believe it's realistic to think Harry would dish on Andrew because it would hurt the Queen, with whom Harry is also close.

The Queen's statement said he will always be a prince.

Not only that but he continues to be 6 th in line for the throne. That means he is still above the extended family. If the queen had taken away their royal titles Meghan would have been junior to Eugenie and Beatrice. That did not happen. This means that they are seated in the same place of honor in royal events.

They kept their royal status. They kept their titles.

Everything else is smoke and mirrors.

Brothers who are close turn on eachother all the time. You know what was Harvey Weinstein's downfall? His close brother who was fed up with him.

Also, the brothers were not on good terms for some time. There’s speculation it was due to William’s affairs but who knows what happened?

Meanwhile when Harry’s family was under attack, William’s silence was a huge slap in the face. He showed Harry his true colors and exactly what he thinks of his brother and the value he places on family. If William’s behavior became more aggressive, I could complete see Harry taking the gloves off and publishing a book. Right now everyone in the royal family is falling on their sword to protect William - much like a generation ago everyone banded together in support of Charles —- and Diana ended up dead. Harry has brought this up frequently for a reason. If history is repeating itself, he’s the Diana in the equation. It’s a warning that he won’t go quietly.

In a situation where Harry feels as if his family’s safety is on the line, I can totally see him fighting back hard.

Still have a lot of work to do to catch up with Trump women's fashion mistakes, though

If the silence needed was really about William, that is so sad. I'd hate to think Harry would stoop to that level on Meghan's behalf. This is his brother, the heir to the throne. If he or Meghan were to start dishing on William, they'd enter a whole new level of being traitors to the monarchy.

Don't worry, the paparazzi will soon enough provide new photos, print sensational headlines, H&M will "step back" but conveniently leak photos, and the like.
