NO. It's a handful of people. Most Crossfield families want to stay at Carson. Even the ones who want to stay at Oakton.

Funny, a Navy mom talking about bullying.

Anyway, it would be an even switch between Oak Hill and Crossfield at Franklin. This has nothing to do with you. Navy families that go to Chantilly SHOULD go to Rocky Run anyway.

The problem with FCPS immediately caving to lees corner, crossfield/rooted in oakton people and walney oaks is that means every area that doesn't want to move will reasonably expect similar treatment.

Lee's Corner was thrown for a loop. No one who is familiar with the area thinks you should take it out of Chantilly. It makes no sense at all.

I'm not sure they have caved yet to Crossfield. I totally think Crossfield should be at Skyview.

Walney Oaks goes to Cub Run. That should be a no brainer. While they are close to Chantilly, they are also quite close to Westfield.

They caved to that group of Oakton parents (not Crossfield parents, Oakton parents) by only including Crossfield in one out of three scenarios.

No, those are Crossfield parents. You think all the other Oakton parents want to hang on to Crossfield when Oakton is already at 103% ? We'll be happy to see them reassigned to Skyview just for the breathing room. If not, Oakton will be priority #1 at the next review and we'll have to listen to them screeching all over again when they fight being moved to South Lakes next time.

Walney Oaks saw the writing on the wall and played a good game. Right now they go to Brookfield then Franklin. I believe they were originally included in the scenarios to move to Westfield. Instead of complaining about that, they focused on the feeder at the middle school level. Part of their justification used to get moved to Rocky Run was being split up with friends. Reid bought it hook line and sinker, saying oh we need more kids at Rocky Run. Then of course once moved to Rocky Run, it's much more difficult to send them to Westfield.

Also I believe they misrepresented their proximity to Chantilly HS at that meeting. They claimed they have a ton of walkers to the school and can hear the Chantilly band playing at night. They are approximately 2 miles away by the crow. I am approximately 1 mile away so my neighborhood has walkers and can faintly hear the band. But then I think about how they are twice as far away and idk... maybe it's true, but I have my doubts.

Not difficult at all to send them to Westfield from Rocky Run! There are some AAP kids who also go RR to Westfield.

Crossfield parents have been posting about not wanting to leave Carson and how awful Franklin is, they don’t want to switch MSs. They have been as disparaging to Franklin as they have been to Skyview.

The problem is they should have included the skyview boundary with the comprehensive review. Dr Reid , if you are reading this should be a comprehensive review of elementary through high school. Do it right , make true pyramids. Fix and back fill what you need. Move the Marshall high school island left during the comprehensive review to soulth lakes if needed, take the flint hill island and fix that area out of Madison into south lakes. Fix areas left out during the comprehensive review that can be addressed now that we have a new school. Make the boundary maps make sense please. Send us to schools near our homes and keep us together from elementary to high school when possible In true pyramids.

Which families would be displaced, the ones near Chantilly? Would they be moved to Rocky Run? And where would they go to high school from there -- Chantilly or Oakton? I can't keep up with all the changes.

Yes. Some would go on to Chantilly and some back to Oakton.

It’s RIO - a huge group. Not just a handful of people. They have a whole website about it. They also explain why they should be moved to Franklin MS.

These are Navy families going to Oakton. Why should they be moved to Rocky Run only to go back to Oakton?

Crossfield SHOULD be staying at Carson and moving on to Skyview.

That’s dumb. Everyone else at Carson will be going to Skyview.

That ship has sailed. What they need to do now is set boundaries promptly for Skyview, and they’ve already defined the scope of that study to include five pyramids, not 24.

You don't really know how many actual Crossfield families are part of this group. Their petition had families without kids in the school and random people from elsewhere signing.
