And... she's back.

Why did she let that asshole white man raise her daughter instead of raising her herself? Also interesting that Meghan praises the asshole man on The Tig without having the same adoration for Doria. Just saying something is off here!

Saying this multiple times does not make it true. After her parents divorced Meghan lived with Doria.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/amp16405569/meghan-markle-mother-doria-ragland/

“Markle, who is Ragland's only child, lived with her mother after her parents' split, but saw her father regularly.”

You’ve posted multiple times basically saying Doria is some kind of deadbeat and I can only assume that level of dedication to make the only black woman in this family look like an absentee mom is motivated, at least in part, by racism.

Newsflash, racism is so last week. Yawn, boring, in the eye of the beholder and all that (the only racist post I can find was the one calling Meghan's father an "asshole white man" and saying it was a mistake for Doria to shack up with him).

This weeks is greed and hypocrisy. SussexRoyal branding and copyrights. And running away to Canada for privacy only to start suing the Canadian press a week later. Keep up.

You are truly delusional.

Maybe the delusional ones are the angry woke people who only want to see racism in everything and use it as an excuse to ignore everything else because it can't ever possibly be one's own faults or mistakes

How is you repeatedly saying something stereotypical, negative, and demonstrably false about a black person (Doria) anyone else’s “fault or mistake?”

I'm not the one talking about Doria - there are clearly many other people posting on this thread. I only pointed out that the claims of racism is so last week and has been overshadowed by manifesting evidence of the real reason the Sussexes are making a break for it to Canada (hypocrisy, greed, selfishness, stupidity, narcissism and perhaps genuine guile).

By the way, I also hate to point this out but there are many deadbeat white mothers too. They don't have a monopoly on who gets to be a bad mother. Not that I think Doria is a bad mother but alleging she is one isn't a racist act.

Taking the time to repeatedly post that she is one despite people previously saying she was not a deadbeat is indicative of wanting to shoehorn Doria into a certain image just like describing Doria’s home as being gang infested is. Posting that once is maybe a mean spirited mistake but to say the same thing multiple places in the thread is not.

Also is there anyway for Jeff to reveal if these posts are the same person or not?

Take a long deep breath. Has anyone on this thread implied Doria lives in a gang-infested neighborhood? Now, I haven't read all 360 pages but I've glanced through quite a bit of it over the past 10 days. I do see people wanting to shoehorn the whole situation into a very narrow prism of racism where everything involved is explained by racism and nothing else.

I will say if anyone surrounding the Sussex brouhaha has behaved impeccably, it's Doria. Because she keeps her mouth shut and profile low.

I will say if anyone surrounding the Sussex brouhaha has behaved impeccably, it’s been the Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William. They cut the Sussexes loose with a bunch of cash and (the Queen) publicly reaffirmed their love for them both and wished them well.

Pretty impressive for a family that was forced back on their heels by their ingrate son/brother/grandson and his grifter wife

Agreed. Bravo to the family and best of luck to Harry and Meghan.

That said, the deal is not a win for them. They did not want to give up royal status, their patronages, tours, balcony appearances etc. They wanted to remain fully royal (just not ‘senior’) which I guess to them means not doing the boring work and having a side hustle. On their website they mentioned ‘carving out a new progressive role WITHIN the institution’ (I forget the exact words).

The Queen nixed that. She doesn’t formally strip them of the HRH but they are not allowed to use it, unlike Harry’s great uncle who was allowed to keep it. when he abdicated. Technically the deal is effective in the spring; would be interesting if the Royal Sussex website and IG account keeps existing. My bet is that name will disappear. They are ‘required’ to uphold the values of the monarchy - ie don’t do anything embarrassing to the family

In exchange, they can pursue commercial deals, keep getting daddy’s money, and security.

The Queen is smart though - the arrangement will be evaluated every year. This means that if Harry and Meghan don’t behave they get cut off even more.... or if Harry decides to be back in, he can come back. I think he will miss royal life - you can see he enjoys the tours and the engagements .

All of these staged pap shots of ‘Meghan so happy and free’ is face saving on her part. She and Harry wanted to remain fully royals, and are no longer.

The title is the format used for people who were previously royal. It makes sense to use that format.

Would be interesting to see what they come up in it’s place or if that sticks.

Yup, the statement was a master class in diplomacy (it’s firm but crouched in positive terms). No doubt that she loves her family, but there are still rules that they must follow.

And she makes it clear the institution comes first.

Who wants to move to Canada and take a less prestigious job?

I would! I would rather wait tables in Toronto than do my job here. And I actually love my job. I just hate the direction this country is taking.

Off topic - but I kinda agree, the country is going away from its American roots and founding principles (libertarian principles) and heading towards Marxism.

I sure as hell will not move to Canada though; they are even worse.

The part where she thanks them for their service is particularly telling. It's how a CEO handles firing (say) a COO, or a board firing a Chairman. It sounds nice, but the message is clear - they are out.

Exactly.

I still think QE2 is protecting Andrew more than anything.

How? She already stripped him of all military appointments, took away every one of his patronages, and now it looks like he won’t even be getting security funded. If the US has a case against him besides he said she said they would have gone after him.

However she’s still her son and she’s going to see the guy, go to church with him, and watch Netflix with him or whatever these people do for fun.

I’m confused. In her statement she specifically says Harry will still be Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. Meghan is still Duchess of Sussex.

What exactly was taken away?

The HRH styling (his/ her royal highness) - apparently this is a big deal in the UK
