The Trump women and their fashion mishaps thread

If you're trying to make a statement with your veil, as Ivanka seems to be attempting, it needs to actually work. Ivanka looks like she cut up some fishnet and hot glued it to a headband. It's not demure, modest or stylish. Would she wear that to shul? It's a failed craft project. I'm not a fan of Melania's veil but at least it demonstrates modesty, respect for
tradition and not an attempt at fashion. Queen Elizabeth, on the other hand, ROCKS the look! Respectful of the tradition but demonstrative of her own regalness and majesty.

Another Trump fail

Yes, a craft project fail—the equivalent of carol Burnett wearing a curtain rod. The Queen is wearing a crown with a mantilla which for her would be appropriate as a head of state meeting the pope. The Spanish wear a mantilla with a comb, again appropriate. International Barbie just phones it in.

Unless full medieval garb comes back, these are just ugly. Obviously the children can do as they like, they’re supposed to be wearing hideous things to highlight the perfection of their youth, but Ivanka is no child.

Oh no! I love these looks! And medieval and the russian headresses too! I would be so happy if these were in style and if older moms can wear them too! An easy hair morning!

Me too! As a 35 year old, I know I’m too old for headbands but I wear them at home bc it’s a great way to keep the hair out of your face.

I think we can all get away with the narrow ones; it’s these big poofy ones that are so trendy.

My Irish aunt visited the Vatican in the 60s and had some sort of a group papal visits. I have her mantilla and it is stunning. It’s really easy to look fantastic in one of you’ve got some money—you just need a piece of beautiful hand-made black lace. It’s astounding to mess up something that’s such a fashion and etiquette softball.
Whoever dresses Melania for the papal visit failed to think about how her up-do would look with the veil. It’s ironic because she almost always wears it down, and it would have looked great with the veil.

Melania looked like she was auditioning for The Godfather:

She looks more like she’s cosplaying than Ivanka most of the time.

I don't believe their affection. I am not convinced he is straight.

That is some fake-ass BS.

I had a ton of those in the 90s and I refuse to go back.

Extreme versions on the runway:

Yes, but for 37-yearold working in the White House, thinking this trend translates is the definition of fashion victim.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

On the plus side, the buttons aren't gaping, no visible nipples or underwear, and it's not shockingly inappropriate.

But on the down side, it's not very flattering, making her look bigger than she is, and it's (in my opinion) ugly. I think the co-ord thing can work, but this doesn't work for me. That shirt would look better with fitted black pants, the skirt better with a contrasting top

Business lady...black tie pajamas?

Jesus she looks like the madame for a medium-class escort service

On the plus side, no headlights.

How does she not have headlights with that fabric and in that temperature??

Look at Miss Thang sashay like people are looking! But she hit her style trifecta here:
Matching sassy pyjamas outside of the house: sassy grandma
In pink metallic: pageant toddler
Trying to werq it: Russian stripper

Stop trying to make fetch happen, Gretchen.

Strange photo, but I like this. I like abstract prints and I think this one brings out and flatters the contrast in her features. Maybe instead of swapping for black pants, a jacket of some sort to break up the print.

Agree. Ivanka’s headband obsession isn’t because she’s fashion forward it’s because a lot of her fashion sense is embedded in the 80s. I grew up with headbands too, but I repeat—a mantilla isn’t a GD headband with a veil. She doesn’t have clue one on how to dress appropriately to meet with world leaders but at least she didn’t put the high beams on display for his holiness.

As a side note, that one model looks like she’s wearing a hearing aid bedazzled by a blind person.

Maybe best to dispense with the snark when making observations about medical devices? It's not a good look.

I like this one! Great color and I think the pattern works. Assuming the hem (which I can see) was professionally sewn and doesn’t have a weird flounce or applique on it, I think it’s a definite win! Also like the wave in the hair and have resigned myself to the color.

I’m torn you guys, it has boob pockets, which I hate, but manages to look decent (as in not a porn) on her so I’m calling it a win!
