The dark color and lack of light make it hard to see what’s going on here but I’m sure it is at least somewhat disastrous!

Yeah, we're never going to see the detail on this one, but the headband is horror enough.

What is with the headband? Anxiety about aging?

Yet again, channeling her inner Hillary Clinton during the 90s.

Nevermind the headband, wth is happening with the sleeves? Is she hemming as a stress reliever again?

The sleeves aren't really the problem. I think she's wearing a 3-4 sleeve lace bolero jacket over a black satin dress with shorter sleeves, so you're seeing the lace some down over her elbows. That might actually be okay, and it might actually be cute, except that there's something seriously wrong going on with the hem or slit of the skirt.

And the headband is so high it looks like she's cosplaying a Russian kokoshnik. "Don't worry, Vlad, we're still with you!" I feel like everyone spent the 90's telling Hillary Clinton to lose the headbands. After that, I didn't think any adult woman in Washington would be caught dead in a heavy headband. (I know every time I see any headband I think is cute I think "Nope, remember HRC. No one over 25 can carry that off.")

Jared manages to make jogging sweats look uptight. I can't imagine being stuck with him in an elevator much less for a whole jog.

You believe she's not wearing makeup? Oh honey.

Well, I honestly didn't think much about it. I assumed she wasn't because the idea of wearing makeup while intentionally sweating seems gross (I admittedly don't wear more than eye liner and mascara most days). And, also, I can actually see her face vs. fake eyelashes and fully colored lids. Regardless, this makeup is still much better than the usual makeup.

Is she wearing tefillin on her arms?

I think the headband might be some workaround for the need to cover your hair in religious settings.

According to the Daily Mail this was just going out on Saturday night, not a religious event.

I hate to break it to everyone, but those headbands are EVERYWHERE right now. They started showing up last spring.

I had a ton of those in the 90s and I refuse to go back.

Extreme versions on the runway:

Yes, but for 37-yearold working in the White House, thinking this trend translates is the definition of fashion victim.

I don't care who's wearing them on the runway. They are unflattering in every one of these pictures.

Unless full medieval garb comes back, these are just ugly. Obviously the children can do as they like, they’re supposed to be wearing hideous things to highlight the perfection of their youth, but Ivanka is no child.

Oh no! I love these looks! And medieval and the russian headresses too! I would be so happy if these were in style and if older moms can wear them too! An easy hair morning!

Agree. Ivanka’s headband obsession isn’t because she’s fashion forward it’s because a lot of her fashion sense is embedded in the 80s. I grew up with headbands too, but I repeat—a mantilla isn’t a GD headband with a veil. She doesn’t have clue one on how to dress appropriately to meet with world leaders but at least she didn’t put the high beams on display for his holiness.

As a side note, that one model looks like she’s wearing a hearing aid bedazzled by a blind person.

Me too! As a 35 year old, I know I’m too old for headbands but I wear them at home bc it’s a great way to keep the hair out of your face.
