“The Special Counsel shall be selected from outside the United States Government.”

John Durham was a US Attorney since 2018. Durham will need to resign either immediately or when there is a real AG who cares about laws in place.

Silly troll... we all know that durhan is close but not there in bringing down the corruption of the democrats. Maybe he should retire like Mueller and be appointed the next day?

Barr started the Whitewater investigation that saddled the Clinton Administration and ended with Clinton's impeachment over a completely unrelated matter. NOTHING ever came of Whitewater. Leaving Durham in place as Barr shuts the door is the same playbook. The difference is, people like Sally Yates knows the facts around the investigation and would be sure to let ALL of them come out.

Agree with what Barr’s goal is, but Whitewater had an independent counsel with a LOT more latitude than the current special counsel statute allows.

I find it ironic that three years and lots of post here on the Mueller special counsel investigation, yet crickets on yesterdays announcement.

Barr actually said "to date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.”". Key words: "To date" Note most of the media left out those two words. They matter

Not in this example, they don't. He used those two words to placate the president. There is ZERO, none, nada evidence of any fraud, except for the two voters in PA.

Really? I thought it meant that he doesn't have powers of prognostication, and can't tell that they will never uncover anything.

"To date" in this context means that he hasn't seen any and doesn't expect to, but they are still looking. That's standard bureaucratese. If he thought they might see something at the end, he would have said, " we are still following leads," or something like that.

Not really PP. my time on dcum has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that most dcum posters are low information voters.
And posters.

But Biden and his Obama admin alums are about to get a serious taste of their own medicine.
I hope sally yates is ready.

And what a delicious constitutional crisis it will be if the Hair Sniffer is directly involved.

Stay tuned.

Better to be a low information voter than a fake information voter.

This sounds like you know them as well. Care to share these 'facts' with us?

Meanwhile in Special Counsel land...

Wonder if these additions are like the 18 angry Democrat lawyers on the Mueller team?
