The US intelligence operatives along with our allies monitor our enemies including Russians, Chinese and so on.

A bunch of Trump operatives, including Paul Manafort, were caught in correspondances with our enemies.

And THAT is what Trump is upset about.

Maybe ask why so many people in Trump's 2016 orbit were communicating with our enemies?

Swiftboating America

Swiftboating worked because it was true. Kerry went to a specific boarding school. In an environment filled with strivers, Kerry was so obnoxious that he was mocked two decades after he graduated for wanting political glory. Think about how bad he had to be to be remembered over 20 years later as being that obsessed with becoming president. And this was in the mid-to-late 1990s--way before he ran for President in 2004.

So when the Swiftboaters talked about Kerry serving for political purposes, they were simply telling the truth. Dems didn't like it, but that doesn't make it false.
