Political Discussion

I have watched some of the videos online. I’m not familiar with the African Israelites, but they are probably along the lines of the Westboro Baptist Church crazies who picket funerals. The African Israelites appear to have been demonstrating and yelling whatever biblical nonsense at the crowd, which happened to consist of many high school boys who came to march for “Life.” Perhaps most of the boys have not been to larger cities where this type of demonstration by religious zealots occurs on the daily.
At some point, the boys start responding to the taunts instead of just ignoring the African Israelites and waiting for their bus to arrive. Now this is the time when their adult chaperones should have moved them out of the situation, because obviously the boys do not have enough good sense on their own. But where were the chaperones? It does appear in one video I saw that at least one adult man is with the boys. He seems to be enjoying the face-off with the African Israelites, versus leading the boys away. So he doesn’t have good sense either. Neither do the African Israelites, but that’s a given based on their behavior screaming random things into the crowd. Nobody here has good sense so far, but the school “chaperones” should have. Now along comes this Native American man. Various accounts indicate that he walked into the situation in an effort to diffuse it. From what I have seen online, this appears to be true. He probably thought the boys were ganging up on the African Israelites - and that’s pretty reasonable considering all the horrible MAGA hats on the students. Again, the chaperones needed to step in. Granted that some of the boys in the larger crowd might not have really been paying attention, but the boys in the front were.. They are old enough on their own to see at this point that they should disperse. Instead, that arrogant boy in the MAGA hat stands right in the Native American man’s face. Boys nearby are chanting and mocking this older man. And when I say boys, I really should say “young men.” All these students should have had better sense to step back and leave the Native American man alone. If for no other reason, the man is older and obviously trying to get the boys to step away from the African Israelites. Did the boys approach this Native American man? No. Should they have stood right in his face, taunted him, chanted and mocked him? No. Should chaperones have shut down the situation before it even began? Yes. And do any of us believe that people wearing Trump hats genuinely value “Life?” We need look no further than the videos to see that they do not. |
What do you know about the Catholic beliefs these boys supposedly profess? How should they react to such a line according to the tenets of their faith? |
I'm sure they will be delighted to defend themselves with all the video evidence there is. Bring it on! |
Very well said. Thank you. |

I saw absolutely no evidence of the bolded. |
There are attorneys on Twitter offering their services pro bono. And, a group of people capturing Tweets from people defaming the kids and trying to doxx them. Of course, Kathy Griffin was in on the action. No surprise there. |
See, I've watched numerous videos, from numerous angles, and I still think those kids were harrassing and pulling "rank" on the Indians as they made fun of them through their own fake chants and "Tomahawk chops" (yes, a number of them were doing that move), and the way that kid stared down an old man from an indigenous group singing what anyone should know is a traditional song - holy smokes that is to me what entitlement looks like. "I'm going to have a staring contest with you and I know I will win because even though you are decades older than me and I should have respect for you, I know I wield more power than you, so that is why I can stand here and stare and grin." |

Not a SINGLE video posted ANYWHERE ONLINE shows the boys cursing. Or using racial slurs. Or chanting build the wall.
Unless you have a video of them doing so quit saying they did any of these things. You don’t know know. Any evidence of of said behavior would be all over the net. |

^ PP here. There are various videos on Twitter.
I am a mom of two boys that age. Let’s just say that if I had seen my sons acting as some of those boys did, I would have considered it taunting, mocking, horrible, disrespectful, intentional, etc. Toward the back of the crowd there are some boys jumping up and down, chanting. It is plausible that they were not really paying attention and were simply goofing around to the drumbeat, waiting for their bus. It’s hard to tell. But the boys in the front were absolutely mocking the Native man. And that awful boy staring down the Native man is very lucky he is not my son. All else aside, he had NO business being up in that man’s face. His mom should be ashamed, but she is apparently defending him. And therein lies the problem. Hate and arrogance start at home. |
Thank you. |
Your thoughts are just that. The old guy probably has severe dragon breath and the poor kid was trying not to retch. |
But videos of them doing the tomahawk chop while screaming and jumping as Nathan Phillips sings his traditional song. Total disrespect. |
He must be talented, trying not to wretch with a sh*t-eating grin on his face. |
Then the kid should have turned away. No one was restraining him to stand there like that. |
