Senate Democrats sending secret letter about Kavanaugh to FBI

Anonymous wrote:Clearly, this woman did not want to be destroyed by the GOP machine. But after 30 years, it still bothered her. She didn't want to come forward and ruin her life, but she wanted to let someone know about it because it tells us something important about the character of a man who wants to be on the Supreme Court.

Bravo to her for stepping forward. But she obviously wasn't taken seriously, or else her accusation would have been brought forward during the Senate hearings. If she watched the Anita Hill tapes, she would have seen what she was in for, and wanted no part of it. Anita Hill went through hell as a result of her testimony before the Senate. Who would want to put themselves through that?

Better to make a smarmy accusation anonymously to try to discredit someone? I think most people can see through that kind of action for what it is--politics.

He was 17 and the alleged behavior, while regrettable, stops well short of what reasonably ought to derail a nomination some 35 years later. If you disagree, please detail all the work you’ve been doing over the years to eliminate protections for juveniles to ensure minors are treated as adults by the judicial system.

I am a lawyer. And, the system is not fair if white boys get off for what black boys go to jail for. Plain and simple. Is that too hard a concept for your trumpian mind?

Is there a black man who has gone to jail for an anonymously alleged crime committed 30+ years ago, with no evidence or witnesses? Do tell!

Ah, you’re right sixty years and more ago, they were tortured to death for even looking at the wrong woman.

All we want is an investigation.

This is 2018. What you want is revenge for heinous acts that occurred decades ago. You don't want real justice. You just want revenge.

Revenge? It goes to his suitability for the job he is seeking.

Try and keep up. The "revenge" comment was directed at the PP who feels that because black men once went to jail unjustly, white men should too. Because, fair is fair, right?

He's also written books on his teenage alcoholism and the orthodox Catholic sexual culture at Georgetown Prep. Google and you can find the story of how he lost his virginity after yet another drunken Georgetown Prep party.

He also didn’t deny that this happened.

"Kavanaugh’s classmate said of the woman’s allegation, 'I have no recollection of that.'"

It's possible he doesn't recall because he was drunk, but that in no way lets Kavanaugh off the hook.

Equally as possible that the woman was drunk and misremembers. Or that she was trying to have sex with Kavanaugh and has second thoughts after he laughed at her and therefore called it “rape.”

Golly gee, why ever do women not come forward?
Conservatives have really proven themselves to be trash people on this thread.

Your sock puppeting is only making you look more foolish. Didn't know that was even possible...

How do you - member of the Benghazi! douche parade, of Whitewater, of Pizzagate - get off presuming to know what I want, or pretending to know what real justice is? In what small, sick mind does a by the books investigation strike you as revenge? Seriously, what screw has shaken loose in the dingy minds of the conservatives? I mean, you keep smoothing over the cracks in your psyche that excuse locking babies in cages, supporting a man who commit treason, who brags about sexual assault. You’re all losing your damn minds.

Hatch is still there and he would have had all of his cadre of GOP gouhls to help him do this again.

Surely you mean, "ghouls"? I'm worried about your mental state.

Don't hold your breath, PP. These crazy liberals are just throwing out lie after lie in the desperate hope that *something* sticks.

And then she sought psychotherapy for it? Not likely.

We have no proof of that claim either.

I don't think the Democrats would have raised this to the FBI without some corraborating evidence.

But they did. There was no evidence provided. Do you think we wouldn't have heard about that? Do you think the FBI would've dropped it like a hot potato as fast as they did if there were something available to look into?

You don't know what exactly is in the letter. The FBI says they dropped it because it came so late in the confirmation process. If they had received it sooner, they would have investigated it.

BS. Whether the FBI would investigate has nothing to do with the timing of the confirmation process. You really think the FBI would say, well we have this terrible accusation that we’d really like to investigate but since the senate judiciary committee is going to vote next week, we’ll just have to let it slide??? They decided not to investigate because they were given nothing that they could investigate.

True.

Posts like this are why people hate conservatives. Congratulations.

I'm not sure what being skeptical of a 30+ yr. account of someone who was drunk at the time of the alleged incident has to do with being conservative. But congratulations to you - liberals are despised these days.

It's one thing to be skeptical, it's something else entirely to twist the allegation around to "she was just pissed that Brett wouldn't give it up for her and laughed at her"

Given that the accuser is anonymous, I'm not sure how this would've been a factor.

Obviously, you are stupid as opposed to just dumber than a box of $&it. She remained anonymous because she did not want to be subjected to the Kangaroo court of the Senate Judiciary GOP Gestapo.

I bet you were a little preppie who did exactly the same thing and teach your sons this is not only acceptable, but encouraged, behavior.

Your anger and vocabulary choices don't change the fact that it's absurd for anyone to come forward anonymously at the 11th hour with shocking revelations that are 30+ years old and expect affirmation. It demeans the causes and credibility of women.

PRECISELY. I have taught my daughter that if she is ever sexually assaulted, she must speak up right away in order to see justice served. None of this waiting nonsense. I think this allegation is complete nonsense; but if there is a chance that it was at all true, who in their right mind is going to believe this woman after 30 years have passed and there are absolutely no witnesses? PP, your last sentence is spot on.

GOP spin! This means the story is true and there is more to come out. If he did it high school then he did it on college. For all we know he is still doing it to his clerks.

Please keep up this foolishness. You're only making liberals look dumber with each post.
