why do we trust his account of the murders? it’s clealry calculated to make it look unpremeditated.

Agree. It's interesting that people are assuming he's truthful in his accounts of what he did.

I also am curious as to why the “experts” + the families are sure he is telling the truth now when he has lied over & over previously.

They all must have some access to specific information that is being withheld from the public.

Because the fact that Christopher “found” religion is not convincing enough for me.
Especially so soon after being sentenced.

Maybe they did another polygraph test on him.
Other than that - I do not see how he can be authentically believed at this point.

What does he have to gain by lying?

It’s a life sentence with no possibility of parole.

what does he have to gain is not a question we can answer. what did he have to gain by killing his family?psycholaths are gonna psychopath.

Another perspective is what does he have to lose by lying, with a life sentence and no possibility of parole? The details he stated are so cruel, it could easily be calculated to distress her family more. Also for more attention, which has been successful.

I don't think he has ever been assessed to be a psychopath. That is partly why this case stands out - there is really nothing psychopathic about him. He doesn't have the personality, the history, the characteristics, or anything that goes along with being a psychopath.

The murders of his daughters were clearly premeditated. Not sure why you think his story exonerates him of premeditation.

Plus haven’t you watched the neighbor’s security video? You see Bella’s shado walking toward him, and he walks back and scoops her up. She was alive for a long time free her mother’s murder. He had lots of choices then. He chose to kill the girls.

I agree that the details that he chose to share were particularly horrible and quite likely an attempt on his part to make the family suffer even more.

if you want to get all technical psychopath is not a clinical category. murdering ones yoing kids absolutely does make him a psychopath in colloquial terms. he also lied about it enough that none of his “confessions” should be taken at face value.

WTF is wrong with people?

“Relatives of the Colorado woman murdered with her two children by her husband say they have been subjected to "horrible, cruel abuse and outright bullying on a daily basis" since the killings nearly a year ago.

Frank Rzucek, father of Shannan Watts, said Monday that his daughter and granddaughters Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, have been attacked online for months.”

It's a simple matter of statistics and the "social" media. Out of the millions of people, there are almost certainly a few that are going to believe some outlandish fairy tale about the incident. With ready access to millions of other people, they can easily reach out to convince others. And social media just makes it so much easier for these followers to reach out as well to the victims.

Was this less of an issue before social media? Of course. Every nitwit with a pet theory couldn't reach a willing audience.
