Thank you! It is sad to me that people here insist that bigotry against Jews is not as important as bigotry against blacks or Muslims, which has been the "soft form" of antisemtism I see far too frequently from liberals. The disdain and resentment toward Jews, particularly those who speak up against antisemitism when they see it, has been chilling.....with remarks like "yeah, well Jews don't get to decide what is antisemttic" or even "you Jews need to stop complaining or it won't end well for you." It is particularly incredible when these remarks come from blacks, as well, who of all people should be extra sensitive to prejudice and bigotry. I also find the attempt to diminish the horrors of the Holocaust as being irrelevant very chilling. Again, thank you for your insightful comment. |

Are you the bigot who has been telling Jews they better STFU about the Holocaust (that cost my grandparents more than half their families) and now you're going on with references to slavery? If you tell the Jews you have so much resentment toward that you don't want to hear about the horrible persecution they've suffered, then why would you expect others to pay any mind when you bring up slavery? No I am not the poster who made those remarks you’re referring to wnd if you don’t know what all “this talk” is about then I guess I should go tit-for-tat and label you a racist since apparently that’s the modus operad going on here. But that’s alright, I’ll refrain from doing so cause I got more important issues to worry about besides coddling your anxieties, notably my own. Wow! I am SO glad to hear a liberal Jew you say this. All I am seeing on this site is a seething resentment and anger from blacks toward Jews, and I too have done much to help black people - including generous donations to a program that helps poor black children in particular. (Even more ironic is that when you bring up Jewish generosity toward blacks, you're hit with more anger about patronizing attitudes and comments like "so you Jews think we blacks need help? Well we don't need help from YOU!" This case with Trayon White has revealed the seething hostility - yes, antisemtism - from blacks toward Jews. I suspected it existed to some degree, but what I've seen here goes far beyond. |

Are you truly sure you are reacting to the sentiments of black people? I'm a black male and I have posted repeatedly that White was dead wrong and he should resign. I've seen posts were other black people said the same. Sockpuppets have a real presence on this and other internet forums - for the purpose of fanning flames and division. They are BUSY. I get that more and more swastikas being spray painted on synagogues is distressing. I get that more and more Jews being beat up by hateful bigots is disturbing. But I’d be remiss not to point out that those increasing hate crimes are being committed by civilians not the state and it was the state that carried out the Holocaust in 1930’s Germany.
Is the state still persecuting you in America today? You ever had somebody call the cops on you simply because you’re Jewish? You ever had the police tell you and your kippot wearing friends to “move along or we’re going to arrest you” simply because you’re Jewish? You ever had an officer pull you over because of the Star of David decal on your SUV? You ever had a judge hand down a harsh sentence on you because your last name denotes that you’re Jewish and turn you over to a corrupt criminal justice system that profits from your people’s pain? You ever have your congressional district redrawn to dilute the value of your vote just because of it’s large Jewish population? You ever had problems trying to cast your vote because there are no polling places in your predominantly Jewish community or you ever had strict voter ID laws put in place in your community to prevent you from exercising your Constitutional right? Those are all examples of the state coming down on a people. It’s all kinds of nutjobs and assholes out here among the general populace perpetuating discrimination against Jews, yes, but the state isn’t coming after you today with guns drawn ready to kill you and cuffs out eager to compromise your freedoms like in 1930’s Germany. No, today the state is coming after people of color with guns drawn and cuffs out and when it’s the state doing the discriminating that’s what allows Holocausts to happen. |
